An Arizona sheriff is calling on Mexican officials to apologize for what he says is a "threatening" advertisement. The ad shows a man wearing camouflage looking through binoculars with the words: "In Sonora we are looking for people from Arizona.""Are they threatening us? Do they not want us to go to Mexico for tourism? It's mindboggling," Arpaio told FoxNews.com on Monday. "I don't think it was in good taste."

Arpaio said he found the advertisement "inappropriate" and called on Mexican officials to apologize.

"I want everybody to call the Tourism Board," Arpaio said. "To me, it's a threatening

Bring it on... The Mexicans have never actually 'won" a battle, so a "war" with Mexico would last about 4-5 minutes (I factored in time for lunch)

Seriously ... Would you want President Jughead to conduct a war? It’s bad enough he’s ignoring the 2 war fronts we currently have - but can you imagine if his incompetence were directly involved in either Iraq or Afghanistan?

This is a serious threat to Americans. That Mexican bozo in the poster is wearing military gear while “looking for people from Arizona”. Obama needs to address this outrage. Oh wait, he has addressed it, he’s the one who gleefully made it happen.

Sure they did.

They defeated an invading French army at the battle of Puebla in 1863.

Don’t you celebrate Cinco de Mayo?

"of course this is mild compared to some of the other stuff"

Yes, this "author" who is required reading in AZ schools (for now) is one of my favorites:

"Jose Angel Gutierrez, professor, University of Texas, Arlington; founder of La Raza Unida political party; and beneficiary of American generosity: "We have an aging white America. . . . They are dying. . . . They are ******** in their pants with fear! I love it!"

""We have got to eliminate the gringo, and what I mean by that is if the worst comes to the worst, we have got to kill him." And since 1970, he has professed, "Our devil has pale skin and blue eyes."

Was there a revised ad the next day? That’s what they said would happen when you call the 800 number.

The French ran out of money and pulled their troops out of Mexico city, so the Mexicans slaughtered the Governor whom the French left behind. Not a battle. The French pulled their troops out, so the Mexicans simply walked back into the capitol. Not a victory.

the second version of the advertisement, which ran on Saturday, features the words "who want to have a great time" following the initial line "In Sonora we are looking for people from Arizona." A scene of beachgoers also can be seen in the reflection of the binocular lenses, an element that did not appear in the original "teaser" advertisement.

Well, thats better.

John Zidich, president and publisher of the Arizona Republic, said... "We have worked with the state of Sonora for many years to assist them with Arizona's tourism to Mexico... We started a discussion months ago to prepare for this upcoming season and have a good relationship with them as a client."

A little ham-handed on the part of Arizona Republic. Maybe John Zidich deserves part of the blame for this.

And this culito is on our public teet?

And we let him stay there?

Sure makes me eager to pay my taxes.

On the other hand, he makes me proud to be an Arizonan today.

Okay. I thought it was kind of witty. It’s not threatening and it’s making light of a very tense situation. It is so obviously *not* a threat, that it passes the funny test for me.

We shouldn’t be as thin-skinned as those who see sexism and/or racism in every little comment. Lighten up a little.

In case you don’t get the humor, our guys are looking around making sure they don’t get in, while they are just as serious about making sure folks from Arizona come to Mexico for vacation.

I've had enough of the Mexican "vacationers". I think it's time they go back home now. I think they've had enough fun.

Finish the story. The Mexicans defaulted on their payments to the French for the land. The French were just coming over to repossess Mexico. LOL

I’m going to revise my 4-5 minute battle scenario with Mexico and use the upper 5 minute figure because I forgot to factor in a quick nap

On this side we’re looking for Mexicans and the flash off those lenses would look great through a sniper scope. Does Pancho wanna play?

Jugears wouldn’t fight a war with Mexico if they DID start killing Arizonans, or even invaded.

It would be up to the nat’l guard and the citizens of Arizona to defend the state.
