With the long Memorial Day weekend on the horizon, President Obama is finally addressing one of the great broken promises of his administration: his early pledge to return home to Chicago every six weeks or so.

On Monday, Obama will make remarks at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, south of Chicago - missing the usual tradition of presidents speaking at Arlington National Cemetery on Memorial Day.

Maybe he’ll embarrass us less in Chicago than he would at Arlington.

I keep expecting that on one of his visit that the honored dead will raise up out of their graves like some horror movie and send the ‘Kenyan’ to He77!
He’s so far detached from the honor of the men of that era that he probably thinks that the Tuskeegee Airmen were with victims of a medical experiment.
He is a disgrace and this decision is unacceptable. He’s the POTUS. He needs to be at Arlington, period. If his family needs a vacation, fine. But he needs to get his sorry @ss back to Washington on Sunday night and be at the ceremony on Monday.
With our boys at war sacrificing all, Obama has a moral duty to be at Arlington. I’ve never written the WH, but I did when I found out about this decision. I flat out demanded that he attend the memorial. I hope others will do the same!

in 1997 my girlfriend (now my wife) and I went to DC for Memorial Day weekend...it was a life changing experience...
as much as I disliked him I must tell you, it was thrilling to see clinton live at Arlington during the Memorial Day service...we were literally a 30 feet from him during the service in the amphitheater...
I'm a pretty level-headed person, but I honestly think that Obama hates all that America has stood for. Look at all his actions and words. He apologizes to the Chinese and every other nation for the greatness of America. He talks about diminishing the sovereignty of America and submitting us to some world government forum. It simply is not a stretch to say that Obama is hell-bent on transforming America into a godless, second world socialist enclave.
No big loss. He is REALLY out of place around anything military (or American, for that matter).
Maybe the truth is: OBAMA IS NOT ALLOWED ON THE HALLOWED GROUNDS OF ARLINGTON CEMETERY, HE HAS BEEN BANNED.
