It will be couched in terms of promoting "income equality" and they will believe that they will be given part of the "unfairly large" retirement accounts that others have undeservedly accumulated.
This will go through congress like a dose of the salts.
Have you noticed that in the past two years promoting "income equality" has become a new government goal ? I had always thought that income inequality was what motivated people and led to great economic, social, and scientific progress. But we are being led down the socialist path.

No, the argument is “to provide you with a guaranteed income stream”...just like social security.
I wonder if this is what will ignite an insurrection or if it will be something else. With these meglomaniacs pushing on all cylinders, one if going to backfire big time.
They would also claim that this is really just a re-interpretation of Social Security, they will be taking your savings and doling it back to you, as well as your neighbor because the social security system is broke. I would bet that the payments will not be much more than social security.

I hate to say this, but after they bribed, threatened, lied, cheated and God knows what else to pass death care and there was barely a whimper, they will do whatever they want now. That was their litmus test.
However, a gun grab would probably set off a CW but they know that and will bring the UN in on us.
