I'm OK with US citizens acquiring a second citizenship for a reasonable purpose, such as business or family ties in the second country. US citizenship, however, should only be granted as a second citizenship to foreign nationals under very specific circumstances where a benefit can be shown to the US from doing so.
That has direct consequence for me.
Should I give up my Canadian citizenship to obtain an American one? I am a foreign national, but I have family ties up here.
