Paltry crowd hears protests over illegal student (KSU Illegal Student)
Marietta Daily Journal ^ | May 21, 2010 | Kathryn Dobies

Posted on 05/20/2010 9:43:17 PM PDT by ethics

MARIETTA - A small group of immigrant rights activists gathered before a paltry crowd on the Marietta Square on Thursday to protest Sheriff Neil Warren's treatment of illegal immigrant Jessica Colotl, claiming he unfairly targeted the KSU student, but gives preferential treatment to his friends and colleagues.

"Why would a big man with a badge go after a 21-year-old college student, who's a top performer, an asset to this country, an asset to this state? The questions are just too many," said Rich Pellegrino, director of the Cobb Immigration Alliance, to a crowd of about 20 residents and media members.

Pellegrino and his supporters called for Warren to reply to the allegations of selective law enforcement. They also called for him to drop the charges against Colotl, who did not attend the gathering, and repeal 287(g), an agreement Cobb County has with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency to check the immigration status of everyone booked into the county jail.

If the sheriff does not respond to the allegations, Pellegrino warned, he and his supporters would possibly seek civil rights charges against him.

"From this point on, the coalition will be watching," Pellegrino said. "We will watch the sheriff and the other law enforcement officials, the elected officials, to see if they really believe in the rule of law or if it's just a neat slogan in order to expediently target who they don't like."

Good Article especially the section dealing with the recommendation that this Lady go to School in Mexico where she wouldn't have to pay tuition.

He is a white male of European descent, doesn’t speak Spanish, isn’t married to a Latina, but to an Afro-Caribbean woman. He wasn’t born in Latin America, but in the capital of the world, New York City, he is Rich Pellegrino, Atlanta Latino’s Person of the Year for 2007.

Pellegrino’s “family movement” started last Christmas when he read the news in local newspapers about the various regulations that Georgia’s counties were trying to push through to supposedly counteract the problems being caused by undocumented immigrants.

The final straw was the proposal to prohibit the lease of apartments to people who were not legal residents or citizens of Cherokee County.

“That woke me up. We wanted to fight illegal immigration with illegal unconstitutional laws, when hate and fear have to be healed with love and welcome,” says Pellegrino, who was out on a street corner in southern Cobb County with his family the very next day, carrying bilingual signs that said, “Welcome immigrants. Bienvenidos inmigrantes.”"

Well, let's see. She was obstructing traffic when intially stopped and then was shown to have no license, registration or proof of insurance. Her passport given as id was also expired. I would have been hauled in, but doubt I could have held a press conference about it. Cobb county educated her for FREE for all these years, the ingrate.

Media Statement from D.A. King and the Dustin Inman Society regarding the latest attacks on Cobb Sheriff Neil Warren from Rich Pellegrino et al.

21 May 2010

Today’s race-baiting attacks on Cobb Sheriff Neil Warren are despicable, but unsurprising.

Not wanting to be rude and use the term “useful idiot”, in Cobb County, it has long been the habit of most people paying attention to refer with a grinning, polite wink to the usually entertaining Rich Pellegrino as our “village thinker.”

Rich’s latest smears and mindless attacks on our much loved and respected Sheriff have likely erased the amusement and last vestiges of goodwill with which genuine Cobb County thinkers regard this desperate character.

While he constantly bleats about being somehow morally superior to the Americans who want secure borders and immigration law enforcement, Rich’s long held anti-enforcement agenda has steadily devolved into rabid race-baiting and frantic associations with such radical separatist groups as GALEO and Louis Farrakhan’s Nation of Islam as well as appearances with American leftist terrorists such as William Ayers .

By being the first sheriff in Georgia to taking advantage of the 1996 287(g) tool, signed into law by former president Bill Clinton, Sheriff Neil Warren has demonstrated his sense of duty, his respect for his oath of office and the courage that the majority of Americans in Cobb County and Georgia admire so much.

It is still America here, thanks to the leadership of Sheriff Neil Warren.

A large part of the reason Warren is respected here is his attention to duty. Rich Pellegrino filed a frivolous complaint against me in August 2008 which was investigated in depth, presented to the Cobb solicitor and dismissed. We support Sheriff Warren because he is an honorable man and when it comes to the law he is charged with enforcing, he is well known for his commitment to its equal application. Look up “Great American”, you will not find a photo of Rich Pellegrino or his attention starved associates, but you may see Neil Warren.

Sheriff Warren is an honorable man, a brilliant example of dutiful public servant and an asset to the well-being of Cobb County.

We note that Rich Pellegrino and his fellow travelers could learn much about honor and integrity from Neil Warren.

We are gleeful and grateful to Rich for so efficiently exposing his true self and educating the general public on what many of us have known for some time.

Mexican matricula consular ID documenting illegal aliens

By D.A. King, Marietta Daily Journal, September 23, 2005

What is green and red, includes a photograph, is needed only by illegal aliens and is issued here in the United States - by a foreign government?

No idea? A hint - it’s a photo ID card.

More clues.

What is printed in Spanish is deemed to be a “criminal threat” and a “potential terror threat” to this country by the FBI Office of Intelligence - but is accepted by many American banks, hospitals and local and state governments?

More?

What has been labeled as an “un-reliable form of identification” by the Department of Justice, but can be used to board an airplane in America - during a war on terror?

Give up?

Answer: A Mexican matricula consular photo identification card. Don’t feel bad if you didn’t know the answer - most Americans haven’t a clue what a matricula consular is either. That is not an accident.

A brief history and some insight into the little-known matricula consular:

On Aug. 29, 2001, in a speech to both Houses of the U.S. Congress, President Vicente Fox of Mexico said the Mexicans who were here illegally at the time were “entitled to legalized status” and later demanded that President Bush “solve the problem before the year ends.”

Even before the horror of 9/11, public opinion worked against the impending amnesty - er - “guest-worker” proposal for the millions of illegal aliens already here.

Following 9/11 and because of the resulting now obvious Homeland Security issues, the plan to repeat the “one-time amnesty” of 1986 and “legalize” the millions of illegal aliens in the U.S. was taken off the table. Several other things however, did not change.

Here, the unrelenting demand from “willing employers” for taxpayer-subsidized labor continued - as did the craving of American banks for the highly profitable business of the enormous illegal alien market.

In Mexico, the demand for the billions of U. S. dollars sent home by the “migrants” - “remittances” (more than $16 billion last year, an estimated $20 billion this year) - also remained unchanged.

Remittances are now the single largest source of revenue for Mexico - larger than Pemex, the state-owned oil company, and foreign investment and tourism. Real, legal immigrants who have entered the United States according to American law have a valid visa, a passport - and access to a little detail called “Lawful Permanent Residency” (a “Green Card”.) All serve as valid identification.

Illegal aliens have none of these.

A minor correction, if I may:
A small group of illegal immigrant rights activists apologists and enablers gathered...
There, that's better.

I live about 70 miles east of Cobb County. My sister lives in Marietta, the county seat. Perhaps the fact that Cobb County was ranked number 60 on The Daily Caller’s list of America’s 100 most conservative-friendly counties would account for the small turnout and fizzling protest.

I would not mind her staying if you would help us deport the illegal alien criminals and drunks you send us. But you never do this. You want all illegal aliens to remain here even if there are no jobs, even if they exploit out welfare and hospitals and public housing

In short you disgust me, you foreign born wack-job!
