Feds won't act on child's question to first lady
CNN ^ | 5/20/2010 | CNN Wire Staff

Immigration officials will not swoop in to deport a woman whose daughter asked first lady Michelle Obama about "taking people away" if they don't have proper paperwork, a Department of Homeland Security spokesman said Thursday. Immigration and Customs Enforcement investigations are based on "solid law enforcement work and not classroom Q and As," said DHS spokesman Matt Chandler. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is a part of DHS.

I think we’ve found the problem, this isn’t a nation of LAWS. They profile people in factories, get complaints....but don’t apply the LAW..

“solid law enforcement work and not classroom Q and As”

LOL!

So “Don’t tell us! Let us find them ourselves”

Does that apply to homeland security too?

Not to mention corrupt, lazy and incompetent.

Then again that can be said of most government “workers”.

No kidding. The anti-border crowd would have a PR field day with that visual.

I love the lib spin: ‘don’t have the proper paperwork.’

It’s not the paperwork, it’s the immigration status represented by the papers — but let’s not mention that. No, let’s just talk about ‘having papers’ in an attempt to stir up visions of Nazi occupation, etc.

What part of illegal is so hard to understand for these gits?

“solid law enforcement work and not classroom Q and As”

So if the kid disclosed a plot to set off a bomb in Times Square, would DHS ignore the kid because it was disclosed during a Q&A session and not the result of "solid law enforcement"?

What a joke. Like they could not pull up to every Home Depot in America and do their job. Put them on straight commission at $10 a head and watch them do their job.

“My Daddy makes 100 dollar bills in the basement,
and he says 0bama will put him in jail for it...”

would we see “Feds won’t act on child’s question”?

so much for due diligence - someone is not paying taxes, enjoying free education, stealing an Americans job, and bottom feeding off our system

and an employer is violating labor laws

Why is this news?

Because the child volunteered the information that her mother is an illegal immigrant -- doesn't that at least warrant 5 minutes of someone's time to look into to see if it's true?

Does anyone know the details of how Arizona will implement their new law? It seems to me that the state may: 1) find illegal immigrants 2) prosecute illegal immigrants 3) Tie the case up beautifully with a nice bow and then 4) Hand the criminal over to Federal authorities.

If that is the case, I can see the feds just turning the crook loose -- "Don't tell us! We'll find them ourselves!"

If, on the other hand, Arizona is planning to fill their state penitentiaries with illegal immigrants, then this may play out differently.

That’s what I don’t understand - this whole “doing the work that Americans won’t do” argument is bunk. Americans would do the work for the proper wage in a free market system, but these employers have found people to exploit via illegal immigration.

It’s also a form of blackmail, because the workers have no opportunity to ask for a raise or better working conditions because the threat of being turned in is always hanging over their heads.

They need to be deported, not only for their own benefit, but for the benefit of American workers.
