The explosion in the blogosphere about the crowning of a Muslim Miss USA comes at a time when Americans have been tested to the limit, at least for the many patriots who recognize the threats to the American way of life since the declaration of the War on Terror.
Some pressing issues: Questions about Barack Obama’s Muslim sympathies are still unresolved, complicated by his pitiful bowing to American enemies and plans to build a mosque on ground zero, a site of grief and trauma for New Yorkers and fellow empathizers. So now with the crowning of a Muslim Miss America, it should come as no surprise that questions will be raised. Rima Fakih has become more than a beauty queen. She has become the battle ground between those critical of her crown (branded as racists) and politically correct appeasers.
From the moment he took office, Obama’s posture has served to divide America, racially and otherwise: he took to insulting long-standing American allies while apologizing for America’s sins among the country’s worst enemies. Obama snubbed British Prime Minister Gordon Brown on a visit to the White House right after he took office. More recently his deplorable treatment of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has left Israel aghast. Then there was his reading of the riot act to Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai, and his promise to unveil a detailed strategy on nuclear nonproliferation in the middle of a War on Terror. To top it off, the Obama administration’s support for illegal immigration at the expense of hard-working American citizens and the president bowing to foreign tyrants:

The meaning is simple:
A desperate attempt of an antiquated, and largely ignored pagent to gain attention.
I’m by far not into PC, and love tradition, but beauty pagents seem kind of silly to me.
Barack Hussein Obama is the FIRST anti-American President.

Miss USA has one true job. To compete in the Miss Universe pageant and, hopefully, win.
To do that, she must look good in a bathing suit, choose a beautiful gown and walk down the runway without tripping (Miss USA will need to practice this skill) and answer the final question without sounding like a raging lunatic.
After the Miss Universe contest... she will sink into oblivion like the rest of the Miss USA's, and a year from now, we won't remember her name.
So, with all the other problems facing this country, perhaps we can focus on something more important than the winner of some beauty contest.

Yes, he is either the owner or majority owner of the Miss USA/Miss Universe pageant. (That’s why his wife and his friends are the judges)
Exactly. Look no further than the man who owns the lion’s share of the pageant. That fact alone ought to convince every thinking person that this win for what’s-her-name has no lasting meaning beyond Donald Trump’s ego and to satisfy his attention whoredom disorder.
I briefly caught a small portion of her on Fox & Friends this morning.
I was absolutely struck by how INARTICULATE she was. It almost sounded as if English was not her primary language and was having a great deal of difficulty expressing herself.
If it weren't for the "controversies" over the last couple of years involving these beauty-contest winners, I'd have gone on assuming that those contests didn't even take place anymore.
I suspect much of this "controversy" is generated by the people involved in promoting these events. In fact, this has been Donald Trump's business model for years -- since he got into the entertainment business after it became clear that he wasn't terribly successful in real estate.

I agree... Trump lives for controversy, and, since he has taken over ownership of the franchise, these beauty pageants have been nothing but controversial. Trump laughs all the way to the bank.
I am tired of muslim this and that being shoved in my face - I don’t know which is worse the same sex people or the muslim people. Please will both groups shut up and sit down. By the way I drew mow-ham-ed 6 times today.

I was listening to that same program. I was struck by her inference that now when competing in the Miss Universe pageant, the USA now will have the “ethnic background” to be in contention. Unbelievable!

IMO, it’s just another step into the sickness that has taken over England. They’re being invaded by enemies within that intend to turn England into a haven for Muslims.
