A huge wealth gap has opened up between black and white people in the US over the past quarter of a century – a difference sufficient to put two children through university – because of racial discrimination and economic policies that favour the affluent.
A typical white family is now five times richer than its African-American counterpart of the same class, according to a report released today by Brandeis University in Massachusetts.
White families typically have assets worth $100,000 (£69,000), up from $22,000 in the mid-1980s. African-American families' assets stand at just $5,000, up from around $2,000.
A quarter of black families have no assets at all. The study monitored more than 2,000 families since 1984.

I was going to say something like that. There is the "achievement gap" that starts in elementary school. First, the teachers are mostly white, and they are subject to being called racist if they try to maintain order in the classroom. From the point at which teachers cannot compel behavior, education suffers. White kids usually don't accuse their teachers of being racist, so they end up more likely to have high school diplomas and basic literacy skills. It may be the fault of the schools for being scared of being called racist, but there are really only a few things that are considered evil by liberals, and they include racism and hypocrisy. Since most teachers are liberal, it would stand to reason that they wouldn't want to be labeled as racist amongst their immediate peers.
Obama and the progressives want black babies aborted. How can they get ahead?
It is kind of a interesting dynamic. Jews being less than 3% of the population and thought to have a lot of the wealth. Blacks being 13% and some not able to overcome poverty. Whites are 75% of the population. They would have the majority of the wealth simply because of the numbers.
Racial discrimination bahhh!! Affirmative action babies all over our political arena right now and they brag about it. What about Oprah? What about Clarence Thomas? No one could be poorer than Thomas was as a child. Obama says he was poor and his worth may be up to 23 million after Ayers writes his next book for him.
I am all for a hand up when people are poor and want to get ahead. But I think for some they just want to be taken care of forever. And they keep waiting for dems to hand it over. But it is not just blacks. Look at ACORN thugs.
We are all going to poor if Obama gets two terms. I am really sick of all these people calling US racists. Probably a closet radical muslim wrote the article.

Why are there so many successful small businesses run by Koreans, Vietnamese, Chinese Middle Easterners and people from India? Because they work their asses off.
Too many homegrown black people continue to play the victim and won't study, learn, become educated and work hard. Those who do become as successful as anybody else.
