Good for him! We should all sue the U.S. Government for what they have done to America.

Some here might be tempted to write this soldier off as a whiner; some kind of ACLU plant waging jihad via the courts, and — in truth — there’s a possibility that that is what’s going on, here. But I think there’s a far larger elephant in the room that his immediate complaint. I think it is a perspective that real Conservatives should have ZERO problem embracing, and it is this:

HAD the Army done what they SHOULD have done in reading the warning signs, and taken appropriate, preemptive action to “handle” the perpetrator, the shootings at Ft. Hood would NEVER have occurred. And had the shootings never occurred, there would not now exist the level of mistrust of Muslims in the Army that now exists, and there would not be the resultant elevated incidence of expressions of said mistrust that are the focus of the lawsuit now brought by Mr. Klawonn.

Not only was the Army’s handling of Maj. Hasan an ABJECT FAILURE, but that failure had the exact OPPOSITE effect as was intended. U.S. Army toleration and inaction in the face of Hasan’s known expressions of anti-American sentiment and hoped-for violence, not only did NOT ease tensions between Muslims and non-Muslims, not only did NOT succeed in calming anti-American sentiment by demonstrating how magnanimous we are, but actually AMPLIFIED those tensions by allowing a nascent problem to grow to full size; allowing traitorous words to grow into traitorous acts. There ought to be a public hanging over this whole mess, quite frankly, and Hasan ought not swing by himself.

If the Army — or any organization, actually — truly intends to make life better for Muslims both in and beyond the ranks of those who serve, then taking a hard line against people like Maj. Hasan is THE single prescriptive of greatest possible positive effect. There can be no better way to engender confidence and camaraderie in our armed forces than for the chain of command to, at every level, PROVE to every boot on the ground that Muslims serving alongside them are true-hearted American patriots by systematically vetting EVERYONE, and exposing, and weeding out any and all who cannot express clear-eyed love for this country, and articulate that they are serving because they want to strengthen this nation.

That systematic effort could begin as simply as requiring an answer to one, single, solitary question, “Will you, here and now, categorically denounce Hamas, Hezbollah, and other similar terrorist groups operating throughout the globe?” ALL who hesitate in delivering the requested response should be THROWN OUT ON THEIR EAR before their next heartbeat.

If it takes a Muslim in the Army suing the Army to get them to kick their own ass about this self-destructive failure, then I’m good with that; I think the action is necessary, and I wish Mr. Klawonn the greatest success in his effort. Yeah, it may not actually do any good, but I sure won’t oppose him trying.
