American Citizens Services Warden Message

Threat against the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City

May 14, 2010

1. U.S. citizens traveling to or residing in Mexico, who plan to come to the U.S. Embassy for consular or other services, are advised that the Embassy has recently received unsubstantiated threats against its physical property, allegedly from drug trafficking organizations.

Perimeter security around the embassy has been augmented and embassy officials are working with Mexican authorities to investigate the credibility of these threats. The Embassy continues to function normally, and the hours our offices are open to the public have not changed. The Embassy will take all measures possible to ensure the safety of its employees and visitors.

2. For the latest security information, U.S. citizens traveling abroad should regularly monitor the Department's internet web site at http://travel.state.gov/ where the current Worldwide Caution, Travel Warnings, and Travel Alerts can be found. Up-to-date information on security can also be obtained by calling 1-888-407-4747 toll free in the United States and Canada, or, for callers from Mexico, a regular toll line at 001-202-501-4444. These numbers are available from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday (except U.S. federal holidays). American citizens traveling or residing overseas are encouraged to register with the appropriate U.S. Embassy or Consulate on the State Department's travel registration website at https://travelregistration.state.gov/.

3. For any emergencies involving U.S. citizens in Mexico, please contact the U.S. Embassy or the closest U.S. Consulate. The numbers provided below for the Embassy and Consulates are available around the clock.

Thanks for the ping.

I live in Houston - there is an all-out shooting war raging in the 1000-mile stretch of land from here to the embassy in Mexico City, and the feral goobermint has not noticed.

The border is a myth.

In historical terms, we are living in the era of war-lords, for example as in the Hundred-Years’ war after the Battle of Potiers. Maybe a better analogy is in the time of the Russian Civil War, when the Red/Petrograd/Moscow government only controlled part of the territory, while White Russians held Omsk and Rostove...meanwhile Free Territory Anarchist Makhno and Nikiforova held Ukraine, the Cossacks held some areas, also Urgen Sternberg the Bloody White Baron dictator of Mongolia who robbed the White’s supply trains and dominated the drug trade.

This is what happens when borders and national culture disintegrate. It is a civil war already.

I am retired.

I did live in California all my life.

My whole family moved away from California.

We did not move to Arizona, either.
