More confirmation that Turkey is in the Jihad camp. I guess if the 3rd World War doesn't light up first and we jettison our Marxist Muslim President, we'll have to remember all this Turkish help. Time to recognize a new independent Kurdish state that encompasses a chunk of our former friends lands.

Anybody in the MSM noting all these pieces falling into place; Hezbollah arming up, SCUDS into Lebanon, Iran testing their weapons, Israel announcing long range refueling capability, Gulf states talking about reactors. This will be a major Obama "oh sh_t" moment that will find him busy shooting hoops while the world burns again.

Agreed.

I've said that Bush's worst mistake was not dividing Iraq and Afghanistan along ethnic lines and simply set to them to killing each other.

It would have been especially appropriate in the case of Iraq, as Turkey wouldn't allow us to stage from their territory, and there is nothing Turkey fears more than an independent Kurdistan on their border. It would have been a suitable reward for their "help"...

"More confirmation that Turkey is in the Jihad camp."

That is extra sad as Turkey's military has usually stayed secular (ie out of political decisions). Turkey's military also has ties with Israel.. at least to date.

They just completed (using Israeli expertise and systems) a major upgrade of many of their existing tanks. Israel is one of the major contractors/advisers/tech partners on Turkeys newest tank they are developing and building. So my question would be, are the Hawk missiles a feint (to Israels benefit), or a signal that there is a change in relationship going on between the politicians and the military in Turkey?

Well said. I have certainly made note of these recent activities, and I'm sure many other informed FReepers have too.

One more thing. Turkey is a member of NATO. What are they doing essentially defensively arming against a US ally?
