I don’t disagree with your assessment of Scotland’s lack of viability as an independent country (Quebec is similarly naive in terms of their perception of what independence would mean in reality), but that’s their problem. They’ll have to jettison their liberal principles if they plan to survive (although I expect that they’d want a large share of the North Sea oil revenues). As for disruption on the border, it’s nothing a more robust Hadrian’s Wall couldn’t take care of. :) Cheers!
