Deputies Find Human Trafficking Victim After Shootout

Greensboro, NC -- Guilford County Deputies and members of the ICE task force were conducting a search at a home Friday night, when suspects inside the home started firing at authorities.

Officials recieved information that there was a possible human trafficking victim at 700 North English Street in Greensboro. An undercover operation led them to believe the information was accurate so a search warrant was issued.

Just before 11:00 Friday night, officers attempted to execute the search warrant, but were met with gun fire.

According to Col. Randy Powers with the Guilford County Sheriff's Department,  deputies did return fire, gain entry to the house, and secured all the people inside.

No one was injured during the shootout.

There were four men (this count includes the suspected shooter) and one female found inside the home.  Deputies believe all four men are in the United States illegally.

After completing the search warrant and conducting interviews, deputies and ICE officers confirmed that a woman inside the home was in fact a human trafficking victim.  "We have good reason to believe she was being forced to have sex with patrons that were coming in," said Powers.  He did not release her age, but did say she is not from the United States.

The shooter, Reyna Isabel-Reyes Caballero from Honduras, has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. Detectives are also looking into charging Caballero with human trafficking law violations on the state level.

All four men could face federal charges.

According to the Triad Ladder of Hope, a local organization that helps human trafficking victims,  someone brings a victim into the U.S. every ten minutes.  And it's the second largest crime in our country.

Just think of all the crime, disease and corruption brought to America.

Not to mention the cost of cops salaries and medical care.

They're just trafficking the humans that Americans don't want to traffic.

Is the sarcasm tag necessary.

Deputies believe all four men are in the United States illegally.

Their status is unknown because of the government's "popular" "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" immigration policy. (sarc/)

Not to mention the cost of cops salaries and medical care.

Not to mention the LIVES of cops that are lost. In Arizona we've lost so many good officers that we can't keep track of them all. You hear about them on the drive home and all you can do is weep. I am so glad my state finally did something about it.

Our problem is to find this person, and stop him.
