President Barack Obama said Saturday that millions of Americans already are reaping benefits from the new health care law, including tax breaks for some small businesses and help for families with young adults.
In his weekly radio and Internet address, Obama vigorously defended the new law, which passed Congress with no Republican votes and continues to stir strong emotions nationwide. He acknowledged that many provisions will not take effect for years. But he said others are helping some families now.
Four million small business owners and organizations have been told of a possible health care tax cut this year, Obama said. On June 15, some elderly people with high prescription drug costs will receive $250 to help fill the so-called doughnut hole in Medicare's pharmaceutical benefits.
"Already we are seeing a health care system that holds insurance companies more accountable and gives consumers more control," the president said.
Obama said Anthem Blue Cross dropped a proposed 39 percent premium increase on Californians after his administration demanded an explanation. He said Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius wrote to all states "urging them to investigate other rate hikes and stop insurance companies from gaming the system."

Yeah, a week ago everyone in my family got a large premium raise. When we called the company, we got no answer why except “expenses have risen”.
One of us has only had the insurance 5 months.
And just think, he also saved or created 1,211 jobs just by giving his weekly radio address!

I am sick of the lies. No wonder people despise our government. They are lying azzholes who steal from us and lie all the time.
The millions it has helped should be tempered by the people whose costs have already gone up, or doctor’s appointments are delayed due to reduced Medicare payments.

Yep, that’s a pretty darn accurate assessment.

I look around and can see millions are already reaping the benefits of this bill. It´s the HOPE that people can stand in line 6 hours to see a doctor, watch the doctors spend 60% of their time filling out paper work, and 40% of their time doing medical procedures. I feel like we´re in a barnyard and sunk up to our armpits in Yuk.
Obama is mentally ill.

It used to be that we had major media outlets which would (at times) seek to verify or refute such claims. Not so anymore. The Chosen One gives a speech or sends out a press release and none of them even consider fact-checking it.
I also got a notice of a 25% increase.
A few days later, I get a letter from my doctor telling me that he is going to retire to his home woodworking shop and his farm.
He is 30 years younger than I am.
I expect to have a hard time finding the right doctor.

the problem is always the same with these people. As they self-aggrandize and gather power to themselves, they actually believe that “talking” about something is doing something. And, I believe, since the media only talks about stuff too, they agree with them. November or die.
