Doubling-down on defense isn't going to win the War on Terror. Yesterday's scare in Times Square shows just how hopeless that strategy is -- if a cooler can be a threat, not even the NYPD will be able to stop them all.
Yet the uptick in home-turf terror plots -- with last Saturday's bomb attempt just the latest -- has many screaming for us to fund an infinite range of new security steps.
Faisal Shahzad hadn't even been charged before the rear-mirror scrutiny began. How did he slip past security and board a flight to Dubai before finally being nabbed, just minutes before take-off? How did he get US citizenship?
After truck bombs at the World Trade Center in '93 and in Oklahoma City (not to mention the airstrikes on 9/11), how can someone so easily drive into Manhattan and park a smoking car bomb smack in the heart of Times Square?

Bush clearly understood that you cannot defend against terrorism without turning the US into a police state.
Bush knew you had to take the attack to the enemy.
Obama is not smart enough to see Iran’s nuclear program as a threat.
You have to set priorities. Our Dear Leader can either defend against a few isolated, lone-wolf incidents from Islamic radicals who want to kill or enslave every free person in the world, or he can defend against the potential terrorists that can easily be found among our Christians, prior-military, white males, Tea Partiers, and others who cling to God and guns in the face of socialism’s inevitable progress. ACORN, SEIU, welfare cheats, and a few living voters made their choice in November, 2008, and their candidate has made his choice. What could go wrong?
The notion that some kind of “offensive” national security game plan can protect this country from someone who wants to detonate a car bomb like the one that was left in Times Square is delusional.
This nation clearly demonstrated just how unserious it was about dealing with this issue when its leadership began using a silly, meaningless term like "War on Terror" to describe it.

You don't get it. Obama is an Anti-American radical doing everything in his power to hurt America. Radical Muslims in our midst killing people fits right in with Obama's plans, he did say THE MUSLIM CALL TO PRAYER IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SOUND ON EARTH, AMERICA IS A MUSLIM COUNTRY.....
