There used to be a link to that article on FR titled, “Who is Antonio Gramsci? You Better Learn”, but the link is now dead. This is one of those “required reading” pieces for anyone on this forum, especially anyone who cares about the future of our republic.

The problem is that those who want people to be controlled will stop at nothing and I do mean absolutely nothing to accomplish that goal.
How do we live with them? You hit it squarely on the head. We can't. We'll never be able to. And it's coming to a head sooner rather than later.
When it does it's going to be damned ugly. They've got their hands on the control levers of the most powerful nation state that's ever existed. And they're NOT going to give that up because they've lost anything as silly as an election.
Do you remember that part in Unintended Consequences where Henry Bowman asked his Professor something along the lines of "How do we know when the Government is like that guy with the van and the handcuffs?"
Well I'd say we're pretty much at that point now.
What do we do about it? Well that's not a subject for this forum, nor any other public forum. That's a subject for hushed whispers with trusted friends.
Your comment drives right to the core of what I was trying to explain: that you can’t reason with the irrational; you can’t play by Marquis of Queensbury rules when you’re dealing with monsters; you can’t negotiate with cancer.
Everything that’s been simmering in the pot of cultural and spiritual nihilism is coming to a boil. My hope is that enough people will have woken up to the premise that nothing less than all-out war against the monsters who would rule us all to understand what a butchers bill we’re going to have to pay. There it is - brutal, but true. Some here wil llaugh at that; I’ll wager taht by the end of this summer, they won’t be laughing any more.
I’ve been giving more thought lately to the role that nihilism plays in this mess. Might have something to publish a bit later on that subject.

We now live in a nation where policies and politics of the 'progressive', Gramscian Left have been formulated expressly to promulgate class and gender warfare, ignorance, passivity, racial division, poverty, envy, and hatred of the good for being good. It is the prerequisite for the acquisition and exercise of unlimited authority and power.
This is all part of the "demoralization" of which Yuri Besmenov warned!!! It is now complete. We are on the very edge of the next stage "destabilization". ( The bailouts were nothing but and artificial "crises".)
If they refrain from doing so it is only because they lack the opportunity and are suitably constrained by the rule of law backed by men who will enforce it.
And...By men and women who will overlook it!
The mysterious deaths surrounding the Clintons and now Obama are relegated to the back pages of the newspaper, and our police force refuses to fully investigate. The mainstream ( Marxist) media ( and appallingly our conservative media...Rush, Hannity, Beck, OReilly, etc...) is SILENT!
NO ONE in any branch of our government will confront Obama and his natural born status!!!! And, even our conservative media is SILENT!!! ( I am exasperated!)
We all know the fate of their German counterparts after the fall of the old Weimar Republic: how many were devoured by the same beast they whelped into the world with their ignorant approval and applause?

They can't afford even the pretense of an election. There will be... a crisis. And then all hell will break loose. There are people on both sides - all sides, really - just waiting for an excuse. Best to choose your point of entry into this coming conflict very carefully - if you can. Do what you must to live through it. The alternative is unthinkable.
