The death of Metra executive director Philip Pagano, struck by a Metra train this morning, "appears to be a suicide," the McHenry County coroner says.
Pagano -- under investigation for financial irregularities -- appeared to walk in front of the train just west of Terra Cotta Road on Hillside Road in Crystal Lake at about 8:10 a.m., sources say.

Chicago, Chicago......
Did he jump, or was he pushed? There. I’ve said it.
the coroner can tell this from the evidence provided by the remains? I guess that means that the death certificate will list suicide as the primary cause of death.
If you want to do away with yourself, have a little courtesy and don’t leave a mess that someone has to clean up.
nothing to see here.... move along....
Didn’t the head of schools shoot himself a short time back?
Hillary must have made a stop in chitown!
.
That will bring a grievance from the engineer’s union.
Yep, he toddled in front of the Metra train. Chicago again lives up to its "toddlin' town" reputation.
Although, this did happen in Crystal Lake; not Chicago...

I’m sure some of him made it to downtown Chicago eventually. All Aboard!!!
What a joke. The guy gets hit by a train and the coroner can tell it was suicide.
Nothing to see here....drag it along....
This gives a new definition to 'riding the rails'...
Not all of them are public figures like this person, and it happens often enough that it is still news, but not uncommon.
and this is just one of several commuter lines that run into Chicago. Along with the pedestrians, that's at least one person who thinks their car can beat the train across the tracks, or they get stalled on stay in the car trying to get it running, or they used to sit on the tracks waiting for a red light.
15 years ago a school bus got hit by an express train in Fox River Grove, because the substitute bus driver was not familiar with the route, the bus was running late, and so on. That intersection was built a few years earlier, and none of the experts ever bothered to try to figure out if a 40-foot long bus would fit in a 32-foot space. The back end of the bus was on the tracks, the train took the cab of the bus off the chassis at 70MPH, and 7 high-school kids died.
Nobody doubts the danger of a speeding train. The real issue is whether this was actually a suicide or an “assisted” suicide to keep him from implicating someone.
“Crystal Lake”-Jason did it!!
