AZ, real Americans. Where is Texas and New Mexico? Haven’t got the guts. California is just a suburb of Mexico and will never do anything.

Let’s see here...Texas Legislature meets every other year on the odd years...

I (and some others) have it on good authority that an “Arizona” type law is in work to be filed in the next Legislative session...That will be in January 2011...

Boy, does that sound like a long way off??? Sure, to those who do not have a grasp of the political dynamic here in
Texas...But that’s ok...Not to worry...We’ll get it done...The people of Texas have had enough, and there are some serious expectations...

No matter what Gov. Perry said in regards to the Arizona law, Texas will build it’s own version and get it working through the system...He’ll either sign it, or let it be enacted into law without his signature...

I’m thinking that if he gets elected again here in November, He’ll sign it, just because he’ll not have to worry about his re-election for some time after this...That is also why he is not going to call a “special session”, number one, because it is expensive to call everyone back, and there is no guarantee enough will come back to form a quorum...

But on the flip side, if Perry doesn’t win, do you believe a democrat Governor (or democrat majority in the house) will champion a bill to do this???

We only have a 3 seat majority in the house, last I heard...So we have to protect the majority first and foremost...These other things are in work...

See, another thing, I’m not sure, but I am positive others here in FR will tell us, if their state government meets like Texas’ does??? Every other year...

I believe that brings an inheirant value to the quality of representation, both democrat and Republican, for most reasons...They have to work in between sessions...They are not a permanent fixture in Austin to collect dust...

Most elected officials in Texas have lost everything they own, their lives, marriages, jobs, in representing their districts...

So before I let anyone off the hook for wondering why Texas is not leading the way on this, theere are just a few things folks need to understand about our system before making a statement like you just did...

But that ok, we’ll edumacate as many as we can...

Texas is already onboard legally on the Federal issues (Healthcare law), and we’ll be along legislatively to back it up very soon...
