Faisal Shahzad gave the impression of a quiet family man, raising two small children with his wife in Shelton, Conn. and telling neighbors he worked on Wall Street.

Now the Pakistani-American is accused of trying to detonate a homemade car bomb in New York City's bustling Times Square. Authorities have brought terrorism and mass destruction charges against him, saying he has confessed to receiving explosives training in Pakistan.

Shahzad was expected to appear in court Tuesday. CBS News reports that officials intend to arraign Shahzad Wednesday morning in Manhattan Federal Court before a U.S. magistrate. Shahzad has been talking to investigators, officials said.

My take on the "foreclosure" side of the story was this..

Shahzad was in Pakistan in 2009 supposedly taking bomb making lessons and rubbing shoulders with Terrorists. So why continue with mortgage payments if he knew he would no longer be living as "a Connecticut Man"?

I don't go with the story that he wanted to fit in as a victim of the evil lenders/banks scenario. He had money to travel on.

That old wood structure "tenement building" looked more like an apartment than an ownership from the picture, now that I reflect on it.

And to think that many of his ilk are in the military and law enforcement and (God forbid) in government having access to explosives and weapons and national security information.

Yeah America, your intelligence is really overwhelming.

The guy was positively charming. Good thing for him he’s a registered Democrat or the media would be portraying him as a vicious rightwing devil.

Reading between the lines, they're saying he did NOT work on Wall Street. So how did he make his money?

The only saving grace is most of these terrorists are too stupid to put together even a rudimentary car bomb, much less a real WMD. But our luck ran out once and may run out again.

I saw the place this evening on TV. THIS is a “$200k home”?
I don’t know CT. at all, but out here, that would rent for under $300/month and would likely be paid with a Section 8 voucher.

CT has it's High and Low ends. It is Bridgeport, a city, so not high end. The Ferry takes you across the Sound to Port Jeff, LI NY from Bridgeport,Ct.

Broker: NY bomb suspect didn't like Bush, Iraq war

Building could have been "owner occupied", some of the comps show tenements in the same price range 120K up depending on the neighborhood. Bridgeport has never been HIGH END CT, no matter what the mayor plays it as--dilusional.(..as I have read his comments).
