Miss him? Bush's reputation might be ready for a rebound

WASHINGTON — Is George W. Bush about to start a political comeback?

Written off as one of the worst presidents in U.S. history when he left office, the 63-year-old Bush has been keeping a low profile, fading from view as the country turned its attention to his successor, President Barack Obama .

Now, some events might be turning in Bush's favor just as he and his family emerge to tell their side of the story, first with the release this week of Laura Bush's memoir, "Spoken From the Heart," then in November with the release of his book, "Decision Points."

"The rehab's well under way," said Mark McKinnon , a Bush confidant who still bikes with the former president in Texas .

"His loyalists have always believed that history would be much kinder to the president than public opinion was during his term. We also believe that leaders who make tough decisions are rarely popular when they're president, but that history puts things into context."

Most notably, the war in Iraq may not turn out to be the political albatross it was while he was in office.

No, but upon seeing some of the details, conservatives might.

Writing books and explaining facts will never rehab his reputation in the eyes of the hateful left. But BO's sorry legacy alone will convince the sheeple that he wasn't so bad after all.

Hell, BO is even making Jimbo Carter look competent. And that, my friend, is an amazing feat!

I would have preferred Bush remain in Texas but he wasn’t a bad President. The full court press from the MSM, Soros, and other communists would have done the same thing to any republican.

I don’t think the Conservative movement will every move forward in a great way until they admit to the greatness of George W. Bush.

The vast pretending that his fiscal habits and domestic policies were indistinguishable from Obama and other Democrats is a reprehensible trope that we must let go of.

Even the bailout contained intrinsically conservative principals.

Already know the details of the Bush administration.

And those details make it quite clear that Bush was never, ever a ‘conservative.’

After 0bama ends GWB’s tax cuts then he should really swing into action in the spotlight.

Why - because then he will have a single very visible issue to compare what he thought was best for America to what 0bama thinks is best.

AND, the public will overwhelmingly agree with Bush!

In the end, Liberals may wind up being more forgiving of Bush, than Conservatives.

‘Is that slug and American citizen?”

I may not list Bush in the top 10 U.S. Presidents of all time, but by God, in the months following 9/11 God could not of given us a better man to pull us out of that nightmare.

And here is a reminder we all need from time to time - please watch.....

Bush at Yankee Stadium
World Series Game 3 OCT 30, 2001

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evb489N11Q4&feature=related

Mark Grace - Arizona Diamondbacks:

“President Bush was standing out there like a Brick Wall,I'm not afraid of terrorist, I'm going to stand out here and give you a thumbs-up, and I'm going to throw a strike”

Derek Jeter - NY Yankees:

“You better throw it from the mound, Mr. President - this is Yankee Stadium, they boo ya.” and as Bush was walking out to the mound he said, “Don't bounce it, they'll boo ya”

I loved George Bush. He may not have reflected every single way I would have run the country, but, from the first day, he was a man of integrity — one who knew himself, who had a solid inner core, and who dared to speak his mind. And his good character and the light of Christ shined in him.

Perfect? Not by a long shot. A great leader in terrible times? You bet.

Most notably, the war in Iraq may not turn out to be the political albatross it was while he was in office.

If not for the ENEMEDIA and their masters in the communist party, aka demonrats, aided and abetted by the elitist apologists in the republican party, neither of the statements above would have had an ounce of truth to them.

Having a republican President that was wildly popular (consistent 60-90% approval) for more than 2.5 years sent them over the edge. They emerged from their cages frothing at the mouth launching a full frontal assault on President Bush knowing full well if they were unable to portray him as an evil, war-mongering, lying, fascist, Hitler clone he would certainly win re-election in 2004. Once on a roll, they have continued to this day.

So then...

You don’t see much difference between this administration and the last?
