US would-be lawmaker (doctor from Iowa) wants illegal immigrants micro-chipped

WASHINGTON (AFP) – A doctor from Iowa who is hoping to be selected as a Republican Party candidate for congressional elections in November has called for illegal immigrants to be implanted with micro chips so their movements can be monitored, press reports said.

Patrick Bertroche, who is vying along with six other Republicans to be selected as the party's candidate for the third district in Iowa, was quoted as saying at a forum Monday that his solution for illegal immigrants was to "catch ?em... document ?em, make sure we know where they are and where they are going.

"I actually support micro-chipping them," Bertroche was quoted as saying by the Cedar Rapids Gazette.

"I can micro-chip my dog so I can find it. Why can?t I micro-chip an illegal?" he wondered.

The following day, The Iowa Independent newspaper reported that Bertroche told them in a statement that his comment was intended as a "critical social commentary on how inane and radical the discussion has become regarding the immigration issue," and that he did not mean to compare immigrants to dogs.

AFP tried to contact Bertroche at his campaign offices but got no reply.

Haha. This guy is a moron. You can’t track a dog with a microchip. It’s a passive device that needs to be read with an external scanner.

His statement can hardly be seen by intelligent beings as comparing illegals to dogs. IMHO. But, I’m against microchipping ANYONE against their will.

Stupid. Why do Republicans always put the cart before the horse?
Just build a damn border fence and you don't have to micro-chip anyone (which will later be used on Americans).

True, but there are now RF readers that can scan at a distance, in the tens of meters, and with “Infrastructure” funding to place them all around, who knows. Build the wall, “deter” people from bypassing it, deport the illegals and be done with it.

Microchips? Doesn't deportation for a first offense make more sense? And imprisonment for subsequent offenses? Five years for a second offense? Ten for a third?

If you have them in custody, to be able to “chip” them...you’re going to release them back into the general public?

Why should I have to pay to chip and track someone who shouldn’t be here in the first place? How the hell can this country have so many stupid people like this in it? It seem sobvious to me that many people in this country do not even want to have a country.

It not only can’t be tracked from a reasonable distance but also cannot be implanted in a bodily location where it’s not able to be easily removed. This guy needs to either go back to his former career or join the democrat party.

Their was a story in one of the conservative magazines back during the last amnesty debate where someone proposed a plan I think would be very firm but fair.

The plan was that once it became law, Illegals would be given one year of "amnesty" to sell any real estate, vehicles or other property they might own in the United States and make arrangements to return to Mexico or their home country. If they could not afford to return, they would be given a bus ticket, no questions asked.

After the one year "Amnesty" any illegal found in the United States would forfeit all their possession, including Real Estate, Vehicles, Money in American Banks, wages due. Basically, everything but the cloths on their backs. This forfeiture would go to the law enforcement agency making the bust, giving local and state law enforcement a financial incentive to catch illegals. If this is their first offense, they would be returned to their home country penny-less.

Subsequent offenses would result in the same penalty plus mandatory prison sentences

On the domestic side, proof of citizenship or legal residency would be required to own property, rent, open bank accounts, get utilities turned on, get medical care other than emergency care, and purchase or register a vehicle. With all these services required to report if a someones attempts to use the service without proof of citizenship or legal residency.

Why bother?

Execute them on the spot. About a dozen will be killed and the rest will cross the border any way they can.

Stop feeding and housing them NOW.

I always get a kick out of the @$$holes who want to make criminals and law enforcement officers out of employers.

We should arrest LANDLORDS and GROCERS who do any business with illegals too.

Politicians and illegals themselves must not be questioned.
