In a tantalizing hint that the mainstream is finally beginning to take note of the emasculation of our society, the Wall Street Journal recently published an opinion piece decrying the lack of conventionally male characters on childrens television programs. Written by Jonathan Last, the editorial states that the creators of childrens television choose to present strange visions of men.
Last decries the effeminate nature of male characters on kids shows, poking fun at a few of them:
The men on kids shows tend to be either aged, and hence harmless, or young, and vaguely effete. Bob, Gordon and Luisthe three bulwarks of the current cast of Sesame Streetare all well past Social Security age. Alan, who minds the departed Mr. Hoopers store, is right behind them. The other main male characters are a teenager (Miles) and a campy tramp (Mr. Noodle).

As an example, even as late as the 1990s, you had EXO-Warriors, X-men, Batman: The Animated Series. Because of feminism, kids have crap like Johnny Test, Total Drama Island, 6teen, ICarly to look forward to. And they wonder why there has been an exodus to computer and video games.
“Johnny Test”
On my show, this would be the fellow who sells supplements in the locker room at the warehouse gym.
I only let my kids watch South Park.
But what did the cartoons show back in the day?
Yosemite Sam.
Marvin the Martian.
Bugs Bunny.
Wile Coyote.
Was the Road Runner male? Hmm.
Sylvester the Cat.
Pepe Le Phew.
Elmer Fudd.
Not really any positive role models there, either, but I love them all.
My son used to like Imagination Movers, and I thought they were clever in presenting themselves as blue collar moving men. But they took that direction because they realized there was a lack of postive male role models, especially working class men, in children’s television.
Maybe this is why Western men’s sperm counts are down!
Malcolm in the Middle is another where the dad is a wimp, but it's probably reflecting what's going on in homes all across the U.S. today as the women start wearing the pants in the family.
I have kids and I’ve never heard of any of these shows. Probably because my kids aren’t allowed to watch anything except VeggieTales, LooneyTunes, and Tom & Jerry.
Fairly typical. I was watching “Handy Manny” with my daughter the other morning.
The Schlamiel (the recurring idiot) is a greedy Jewish candy store owner (merchant) with mother issues.
The Handy Manny character himself is OK, and reasonably masculine. Distinctly Cuban.
The competent people are: probably lesbian hardware store owner, female Cuban mayor.
“Turner” the anglo male screwdriver is an old grump who is inferior to the modern “Philupe” a phillips screwdriver.
“Pat” the Hammer is also anglo, and an idiot.
Didn’t figure out the rest.
And Popeye the punch out man.
For $5 at Wal-Mart I bought my kids 200 hours worth of those cartoons.
The War on the Alpha Male continues, the Marxists and Fascists understand that their plans to re-distributute, re-educate, reform and feminize...and ultimately control the nation and world will have to “stomp the cowboy” out of the population.
This is systematically done via schooling, pop culture (TV, radio, movies, magazines, music, internet) and the feminist, diversity and food additives (soy, chemicals, additives, flouride - call me a Bircher, I care not) to emasculate the male and make him weak, deformed and unthreatening.
The march to absolute control will needs weak, pseudo-males to not fight, but lay down via the feminazi, date-rape-brainwashed figure skaters, not hockey or football players.
Sarah Palin likes the outdoors, snowmobiles, hunting, running and hockey...she defiles the Liberal, video-game, fat, weak male the Marxists seek.
When the come for us, they want us to have to courage or will to fight them. This is planned.
Be prepared, “it is coming” (e.g. war).

So what you seem to be saying is that for a man’s man role model we have only Sarah Palin? That’s a tad awkward.
DVDs are great. Kids don't need to watch cable TV.
And, BTW, the current Fav book is "Paul Revere's Ride". Good strong male role models, there, too. My son has been warning the neighbors that "The Redcoats are coming" for the past few weeks.....
This is precisely why I let my son watch old episodes of Jonny Quest, GIJOE, Thundarr the Barbarian, Spiderman, etc. since the men characters in them are actually MEN.
No, but they all oozed testosterone. Well, maybe not Pepe Le Pew, but he was French :-)
Pepe loved the ladies. Very macho in reality.
I think the libtards all looked to Mr. Rogers as the ideal male. This guy was creepy to me.
