Obama hits 2010 campaign trail in US heartland

WASHINGTON (AFP) – President Barack Obama heads into the American heartland Tuesday, to launch the Democratic mid-term election campaign in states paying a heavy price for the worst economic crisis in decades.

Obama will spend two days hopscotching across to Illinois, Iowa and Missouri, after urging his young, multi-racial supporters to thwart what an aide termed a Republican-induced "nightmare" at mid-term elections in November.

Democrats fear heavy losses in the polls, which could put their grip on Congress at risk, as opinion surveys show Obama still has lagging approval ratings nationwide, despite several recent big victories.

In a YouTube video, Obama made the case that his presidency had delivered on historic health care reform and staved off an economic meltdown, but warned that his political foes hoped to slow his "incredible journey" of change.

He pledged to heed advice from grass-roots Democrats who told party leaders and to "make sure the same people who were inspired to vote for the first time in 2008 go back to the polls in 2010."

"It will be up to each of you to make sure that the young people, African Americans, Latinos, and women, who powered our victory in 2008, stand together once again," he said in the video mailed to Democratic activists.

"If you help us make sure that first-time voters in 2008 make their voices heard again in November, then together we will deliver on the promise of change, and hope, and prosperity for generations to come."

I guess I had better keep a wary eye on my 23 Year Old Niece and my Latino Wife.

Zero stickers seem to be disappearing from cars. Everyone I talk to is using profanity when discussing Zero and all members of Congress.

I was recently back home visiting my relatives in California. They're all committed liberal Democrats and they all voted for Obama. They supported him so strongly during the campaign, that I was nearly excommunicated from the clan over it.

Well, funny about that visit. We argued politics a bit (can't be avoided), but not a single one of them brought up Obama's name the entire time, nor did they wave the Democrat flag, once.

It didn't occur to me until after I'd gotten back to Texas, but there was something quite odd about their not bashing me over the head with everything Zero. I may have missed a golden opportunity by not asking them for a report card on his performance.

Zer0 has been in campaign mode since he was in the US Senate. He does not stop. The American people are getting tired of this wart on the political landscape.

Line up 100 Democrats...and ask if they can really support the President over the events of the past year. You get around fifty percent that still claim support. Maybe twenty percent will say they see some positives and some negatives. There’s at least thirty percent who won’t say anything positive.

These antics and use of senators and representatives in a comical way...simply pave the road in November toward big losses for the democratic party.

So ask yourself...on the day after the November election...how will you get people to come back to the overall party? Then ask the president. There will be two totally opposite methods given. I think that will say an enormous bit over 2011’s dark period for the administration (consider Republican control over the house and 48 likely Republicans in the Senate).

I just now watched the Glen Beck show in entirety. I only had bits and pieces when I posted earlier. I know I have the original article on Obama funding the Global exchange somewhere in my files.

BUT, here is what Glen Beck did not say. In 2006 when Goldman sachs bought 10% in this redistribution of wealth scam, Obama also bought shares of goldman sachs. I have posted this before but it so relevant again. This was all planned and Obama was going to get his share.
