People forget the greatness of President Bush. He was the only president to cut taxes in time of war. It is to those tax cuts we are indebted for the 8 years of prosperity we had under Bush. Now, as you say, we are looking forward to wartime tax rates under Obama. Of course, we are still fighting 2 wars, or 1 war on 2 fronts. But we should not forget the Bush cut taxes and there was prosperity for 8 years, while under Obama we have had nothing but misery.

RogerQ: “People forget the greatness of President Bush.”

Sorry, but I have to respond to that. I, for one, haven’t forgotten the weakness of President Bush. Compassionate conservatives, aka RINOs, like Bush are a good reason why we are currently in the fix that we are in.

Raising entitlements and fighting a war while cutting taxes is little better than raising entitlements AND taxes. Bush’s compassionate conservatism was a crock! Or have you forgotten our present financial dilemma started on Bush’s watch?

The fact that Obama is so much worse doesn’t vindicate President Bush, McCain, and the other RINOs who did their part to destroy liberty on their watch.
