Neighbors of New Yorker, Kitty Genovese, back in the 1960s listened a long time to Kitty’spiercing screams from her apartment, but did nothing and did not phone the police.
People afterwards said “Tsk, tsk, what is wrong with people?” and lots of analyses appeared.
This heroic man, himself bereft of home, retained and proved his humanity.
What do you want to bet .. All of those that just walked by, (the ‘homeless man’) .. were going HOME?
