Rand Pauls latest ad in the Kentucky GOP Senate primary touts the support of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who is bucking the GOP establishment to weigh in on his behalf.
Paul first received Palins endorsement in February over Secretary of State Trey Grayson, who is viewed as the choice of national Republicans in the race to succeed retiring GOP Sen. Jim Bunning. But Paul, a tea party movement favorite, has led Grayson in recent public polls and even picked up the surprise endorsement of Bunning last week.
The 30-second television spot, which began airing in the states major media markets Monday, features a clip of the 2008 vice presidential nominee praising Pauls conservatism. It comes on the heels of Graysons comments last week when he told the Louisville Courier Journal that he didnt believe the former governor was qualified to be presidenta clip that was widely circulated by Pauls campaign.
He wants limited government. I respect that, and Im proud to support him, Palin says in the ad.
GOP presidential nominee John McCain and Palin easily carried Kentucky in 2008 with 57 percent of the vote.
Paul campaign manager David Adams declined to specify the size of the Palin ad buy, but told POLITICO it is only one of a several ads the campaign will cycle through in the weeks leading up to the May 18 primary that prominently feature other Paul backersincluding a planned spot featuring Bunnings endorsement.

Because hes a federalist and he wants the states to have more say --
and as we respect the 10th Amendment in our Constitution,
he wants the states to have more say in a lot of these issues." ~~ Governor Sarah Palin.

Having Sarah endorse Rand Paul is a plus for Sarah as far as I’m concerned. A couple more endorsements of strong limited government candidates will go a long way to wiping the McCain stench off of her.

Good for her. She would make a great Vp with Dr.Ron.In most recent polling, Sarah Palin had 25% of Kentucky Republican support for the 2012 Primary, whereas Ron Paul had 5%.
In the unlikely event that these two are ever running together on the same ticket -- it's going to be Palin-Paul, not the other way around.
She's on our side, but let's face it -- Rand Paul needs Sarah Palin more than Sarah Palin needs Rand Paul. He is an asset to her, definitely; but she strongly energized his whole campaign.

They're very similar in philosophy and policy, but they have a few sustantial differences.

Though I, like JD Hayworth himself, can certainly understand and forgive her personal loyalty in supporting McCain -- I much prefer to see the staunch, Small-Government endorsements that Sarah makes when she picks them herself, rather than the other way around.

What are their differences? Just asking.
- Rand Paul is in favor of continuing the War in Afghanistan.
- Rand Paul favors keeping the Gitmo detention center in operation until every last suspect has been investigated and either charged, or cleared.
- Rand Paul favors Military Tribunals for those charged, rather than civilian courts.
- Rand Paul favors keeping State-level drug-prohibition laws on the books, only opposing Federal drug laws as Unconstitutional.
Those are a few I know off the top of my head.

IF he wins and after talking out of both sides of his mouth
many of the people of KY will find out what he really thinks and it won’t be smooth sailing for him.

I'm just happy to see the intelligent, beautiful, and talented Governor Sarah Palin continuing to support the REAL conservative in this race -- as opposed to your preferred RINO hack.

One more -- Ron Paul favors building a "border fence" against illegal immigration; Rand Paul favors
militarizing the border against illegal immigration.
So, like I said, they have similar outlooks, but somewhat different policy proposals.
