Ready for round two?
Sen. Abel Maldonado, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's pick for the vacant lieutenant governor post, is heading back to the Assembly Rules Committee tomorrow for another confirmation hearing. The 11 a.m. hearing paves the way for the lower house to vote on the nomination as soon as Thursday's 9 a.m. floor session.

What happened to the last Lt. Governor?

AGAIN? I thought Ahnuld’s attempts to install this backstabbing RINO mini-me as Lt. Governor were dead and buried back in February. Dragging California thur this process all over again will be a nightmare.
I wish Maldonado would take the hint to leave quietly after voters rejected him for Controller and then the legislature rejected for Lt. Gov. He's starting to remind me of Judy Baar Topinka — nails-on-chalkboard socialist RINOs who continually come back to life after a stake in the heart.

Garamendi ? He ran for Congress in a special election and won.

John Garamendi. He ran for an open seat in Congress and won, leaving the Lt. Governor post vacant when he resigned to take his Congressional seat. California state law actually prohibits Ahnuld from naming a temporary replacement himself, but Ahnuld won’t let any stinkin’ laws stop him.

If the CA legislature wants to defeat his nomination, then the Senate abd Assembly should vote to defeat it. As I recall, the Democrats couldn’t muster a majority against his nomination in either house.

Ought to elect me to the California General Assembly then. I'd vote against the Dede Scozzafava-like Maldonado and ensure his nomination was defeated with a “bipartisan” effort. Ahnuld and Abel should be proud, they're always talking about how great it is when Republicans side with the Dems. ;-)

What’s hillarious about that asshat Maldonado’s apostasy is that the Dems didn’t bother to give him a reach-around when it came time to return the favor. Moral of the story to moronic Republicans, Democrats use you, you don’t use them.
