SNIPPET: “...ignited a quart-size container with an explosive material called Tannerite...”
SNIPPET: “Pieces of his clothing were found 10 to 15 feet away, and pieces of the device were found 30 feet away.”
Tannerite detonates by high impact. Must have hit it with a hammer or something .
He is most likely an Obama voter with just a little hobby.
A quick search on Tannerite shows it to be commonly used for targets by shooting clubs. It can be mixed out of commonly available items or purchased online in prepackaged products.
Mixing it or creating a bomb is of course illegal. This stuff is hard to detonate so he probably had a fuse problem.
To quote Adam and Jamie: “Don’t try this at home. We’re what you call experts.”
On January 14th 2008, a man in Red Wing, Minnesota was accused of detonating 100 lb (45 kg). of Tannerite inside the bed of a dump truck by shooting it with a .50 caliber rifle from 300 yards (270 m) away. The ensuing blast could be felt at Prairie Island Nuclear Power Plant, and officials from the FBI, BATF, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, US Postal Service, and the US Coast Guard became involved, along with local law enforcement agencies.[4]
The man, Brian Wesley Childs, was arrested for gross disregard for human life and destruction of property with an explosive or incendiary.[5][6] Childs has since pleaded guilty to detonating an explosive device and unlawful possession of components for explosives, for which he was fined $2,583 and sentenced to three years’ probation; the charge of disregard for human life was dismissed.[7]
Sir, a good eod pic is truly needed fer this one...
I am taking a guess here that his jeans were not the only thing that got blown off 15ft.
Dumb kid.
Should have joined the US Military and learned to do things the right way while being productive in serving our Country.
"He blowed up real good."
