In a speech to political allies gathered at Cape Canaveral last week, President Obama laid out his vision for America's space program. Under the Obama plan, NASA will spend $100 billion on human spaceflight over the next 10 years in order to accomplish nothing.

Of course, that's not how Mr. Obama phrased it. But beneath the President's flowery rhetoric, that's how things add up.

Here's the background. In 2004, the Bush administration launched a program called Constellation to develop a set of flight systems, including the Orion crew capsule and the Ares 1 and Ares 5 medium and heavy lift boosters, that together would allow astronauts to return to the Moon by 2020, and then fly to destinations beyond.

This is a classic example of how the Illegal tries to get support for himself by appearing to support a popular program that's actually constitutionally authorized while really doing his level best to undermine it. He's done the same with nuclear power by stating his support while simultaneously canceling the Yucca Mointain waste depository and doing nothing to promote recycling of used fuel rods.

The least qualified guy in the room, a guy with no documented and verified academic credentials is now running the space program.

Isn't this reminiscent of his big splash that made everyone think he's for an oil drilling program, but actually reading his words we find he's referring vaguely to "exploration" only.....and his whole phony oil schtick has disappeared from the news because he got there but when he got there there was no there there.

I know a lot of NASA people and virtually all were Obama supporters, with ex-military being the noteable exceptions.

I saw some Fri. and the shock on their faces was loud and clear. But because they are customers I just turned the other way and said nothing. But I sure wanted to ask “WTF were you thinking?”

This reminds me of the scene where "My Cousin Vinnie" comes into court for the first time, and started emulating what the prosecutor did, like taking out the papers, putting the briefcase under the table...you know, trying to look "lawyerly".

The kenyan is looking across history at other presidents, from FDR on down, and not only trying to emulate them, but trying to "one up" them.

Now he is trying to be JKF with a "space vision", and at the same time taking a hatchett to the space program.

He's an undocumented alien, and so far all we have seen from him is the attitude and demeanor of an "enemy of the state". I think some proof and credentials would be in order, based on his behavior and disloyalty to the flag and all other things American.

I think he is Bin Laden's one-man Jihad on America...more and more each day I think that...
