The House Democrats' Torquemada got cold feet. Self-styled "chief inquisitor" Henry Waxman announced this week that he's canceling a planned show trial of corporate executives who called public attention to the financial hit they're taking as a result of President Obama's health care mandate. Business owners can breathe a small sigh of relief. But the witch hunt isn't over.
You'll recall that Waxman fired off nasty-grams to the heads of Deere, Caterpillar, Verizon and AT&T last month, demanding their presence at a congressional auto de fé. Their sin? Publicly reporting the costs and consequences of federal health care taxes on their firms' bottom lines. A vindictive Waxman sought internal documents and e-mails from the CEOs about the profit charges. Commerce Secretary Gary Locke took to the White House blog and TV airwaves to condemn the "premature" and "irresponsible" disclosures.

That’s because he knows that if he starts this, the TRUTH will come out and bite his butt.
They called the Bamster’s bluff !!!
Come on Pig face Harry do it!!!!!!!!!!
they are going to hold off until closer to the election, and then start a parade of show trials as part of their Class Warfare Populist Offensive.
- Oil company, charging $4/gallon, into the stocks with you!
- Credit card company, charging 28% while prime is almost zero, into the stocks with you!
- Major employer, laying off large numbers of people in a swing state and moving the work offshore, into the stocks with you!
- Banks charging ATM and service fees, into the stocks with you!
- Cable companies raising your charges, into the stocks with you!
etc. etc. etc....I expect this will be a VERY long summer and fall.
I think Waxman actually believed that this would cut costs. That is why he sent the letters. After getting some facts about Obamacare he no longer wants these hearings as they are drawing too much attention.
They will prove that it is not cost saving and providing better care but actually doing the opposite.
That is the last thing he wants when they are getting ready to pass Cap and Trade and a VAT on us.
On the bright side, he may actually double check some figures now and actually take a look at things before pushing them through to avoid this problem in the future ....
Oops .. I forgot we were talking about Waxman ... disregard my last thought.
