Not to sound paranoid but do you think they could use this as a basis to form a law against outdoor and indoor shooting ranges ? One way for them to attack our 2nd amendment. Just saying.....
Yes. In Texas, one of our outdoor ranges was shut down just for that reason. Matter of fact, there is a whole complex consisting of a bunkhouse, kitchen, lecture rooms, all to be bulldozed.
The lead has not contaminated anything, the range was a good distance from all facilities. More enviro-wacko power coming to bear.
All this "contamination" BS is a lie. Send your paychecks into the government all of you who wave the banner of environmentalism, feel good, be PROUD, yeah, great.
I believe there have been some proposals to outlaw lead bullets, which would require much more expensive alternatives. So far the idea hasn’t flown anywhere. It would be a good idea, however, for the RKBA movement to work on and support the development of a cost-effective alternative. Right now, lead contamination is really the only valid reason not have a firing range in the basement of your home. Yes, you could set up a ventilation system, as commercial ranges do, but it’s quite expensive to do that as a retrofit AND while maintaining the sound-muffling that a windowless room in a normal basement provides.
