CHICAGO - Chicago police are investigating shootings around the city that left seven people dead and several more wounded in a matter of hours.
Police spokesman Officer Hector Alfaro says the first shooting happened at about 6 p.m. Thursday and that the attacks continued into the early hours of Friday in various neighborhoods.
Alfaro says police believe the shootings that left five men and one woman dead are unrelated. He says no arrests had been made as of early Friday.

As long as they contain this to their own neighborhoods I’m not sure I give a damn.
As a multiculturalist-in-training I’ve realized that it is arrogant to try to enforce my white, Christian middle class cultural norms and expectations on other groups.
Sadly though I’m sure we’ll be paying for the aftermath of it: hospital visitis, the morgue, the police investigations, the court proceedings, and the incarcerations.
If I was a cop I might be real tempted to go write speeding tickets is some nice tree lined neighborhood on the other side of town and let the gang-bangers sort this out on their own.

Yeah, part of me agrees with this and the rest of your points as well.
Honestly, I consider most of these urban areas to be blights on society that have very little hope of ever being turned around. A part of me really wouldn't mind seeing the socialist urban areas completely collapse. The people are almost beyond helping as their spirit has long ago been ruined by marxist thinking (much like many of the people in places in East Germany, Russia, etc). My concern is that the violence and disease couldn't be contained if we allowed it to get too out of hand.
Big report on Chicago News last evening how because of “budget shortfalls,” the number of cops in Chicago will be reduced. Of course, this is just another ploy for Pat Quinn to raise taxes in Illinois.
Media never reports on the millions of dollars flushed down the toilet every year on worthless programs. Only reports when “critical services” will be cut, scaring the citizenry.
If I could replace Daley, I’d tell every law-abiding citizen to buy a gun. There are simply not enough police and we are counting on the citizenry to protect itself and wipe out the scum.
