This is to start a place for all WA state tea party ralliers to report in -
Olympia - just got back from the second tax day rally on the capital campus. About 4000 attended. To me, seemed a little less than last year's rally. Great crowd, good speakers. At least the rain stopped so we all did not get drenched.
WA ping
That's because there are more rallies in Washington this year. 21 of them per KVI radio. The people are spread out between them.
Good point. Hadn't considered that. I hope the total number of protesters are up and growing
I did order my new bumper sticker, based on something KVI’s John Carlson said yesterday that I thought was brilliant.
America is Waking Up!
TEA does that.
One reason for comparatively low turnout is the lack of parking in the capitol vicinity. The last anti-health care rally a few weeks ago took place on a Saturday and parking was no problem.
Say WA? Evergreen State ping

FReepmail sionnsar if you want on or off this ping list.
Ping sionnsar if you see a Washington state related thread.
True, close up parking is not good, but last years 5000+ event was also on a weekday. We had to walk several blocks, but that did not bother us, because the weather was beautiful. I still stand by the reason for the smaller turn out is being the 21 other rallies. Last year it was not spread out nearly so wide.
TriCities, WA (Richland, Kennewick, Pasco). Local paper puts crowd at 600 which is probably close. Total population of the area: ca. 100,000-125,000.
I later added this:
I need to add something to the TriCity, WA turnout (above). The demonstration took place at a park which faces onto a major thoroughfare. While I was out there holding a sign about 1 out of 3 autos honked their horns loudly and many drivers and passengers gave us a thumbs up. No one shouted obscenities, no one yelled opposition. This took place during rush hour so support for the Tea Party was stronger than attendance figures alone indicate.
For those of you who know the area the major thoroughfare was George Washington Way.
