What caused such a dramatic shift?
The Wall Street Journal on April 8 reveals the answer. According to the article, “U.S. [energy] giants will start drilling for shale gas in Poland within the next few weeks.”
There’s your answer. All of Russia’s neo-imperialism has been built upon the fact that it has “peaceful gas” (similar to the Soviet Union’s “peaceful atom”) and that it can shove its gas pipelines through Poland just like the Kremlin did with Ukraine. But what if Poland becomes a shale gas exporter?

He walks into the wreckage field while it is still burning and before there is any evidence of rescue or response crews (no trucks, firefighters, etc). He and an old man walk through the debris for about 50 seconds. Then a clear gunshot is picked up. The videographer adjusts his position. Two more shots are clearly heard. The videographer says "Fuck me" after each shot. We see the old guy retreating from the sound. We see through the trees and smoke two dark-dressed men moving through the wreckage about sixty yards away as another shot is heard. Then the clip ends.
I saw it last night an hour after it was posted. It's already been scrubbed off the web.

Shale gas extraction technology will, as it has in the US, dropped the price of Natgas. The US may become an exporter of gas...to Europe. Europe may be self reliant. Putin may lose a major source of cash for him and his buddies.
So is everyone still buying the “official” Russian story of pilot error?

Accident? No, I don’t believe in this big of coincidences.
I have no doubt Putin is capable of intentionally causing such a tragedy.
I just don’t see why he would think bringing down this plane gets him anything.
The Polish president is Head of State, not Head of Government, and even if he were both, like our president, when he dies he would just be replaced by someone else who would likely have much the same policies.
I am not a conspiracy guy. In fact I like to deconstruct conspiracy theories.
I do know though what gunshots sound like and I do know what the video/audio shows. Men were walking through the debris field and single shots were being fired.
The videographer's reaction was exactly what one would expect of somebody stumbling into a series of coup de grace executions in progress.
Also, the official story is that there was a blanketing thick fog that caused the crash conditions. The video, taken within minutes of the crash, shows this to be a lie.

Other Poles will just move up into their positions.
I’m also somewhat skeptical of the story you describe. It would mean gunmen were able to get to the crash site considerably before rescue personnel, which would presumably mean they knew in advance more or less exactly where it would come down.
