JERUSALEM (AP) Israel has issued an ``urgent'' warning to its citizens to leave Egypt's Sinai Peninsula immediately.
The warning refers to ``concrete evidence of an expected terrorist attempt to kidnap Israelis in Sinai.''
The statement from the Israeli prime minister's office Tuesday took the unusual step of calling on families of Israelis touring the Sinai to establish contact with them.

uh oh
On FOX news radio report just now.
Didn’t Israel do something similar to this in the lead up to the 2006 war with Hez?
Poster on the other thread says watch the new moons for Israeli night vision advantage. That’s tomorrow.
Prayers for Isreal and her people.
Perhaps a follower of the Religion of Peace is going to do something....Peaceful?
I have a feeling this one Isreal.

Keep watch, for no one knows the hour.
With a Muslim as US president, Israel is on her own for a awhile.
Yes. Recall that there was a major terrorist attack on a tourist resort serving Jews in 2004.
There was another bombing of a Sinai resort in 2006, killing 23 -- but not a single Jew among them.
MAYBE this warning is just what it portends to be? I’m no military strategist but I don’t see how the Sinai would fit into an attack on Iran, or anywhere else for that matter. Am I missing something?

Frustrating that they just locked that thread... We were having some interesting conversations over there (and a good number of posts already).
I know this was here 45 seconds before the other thread, but this wasn’t in Breaking News until after the other thread was locked.
[I’m just sore because I wrote out a reply to someone and hit post, and got the “purple screen”.]

BACK TO THE TOPIC:
Someone had asked why Israel would attack Iran when it would no doubt lead to a huge war?
Well, my answer is as follows — if you are Israel and are facing extinction at the hands of a nuke from Iran who has vowed to wipe you off the map, and it starts becoming more and more clear (via Obama’s actions) that you aren’t going to get the support from the US (and obviously Obama isn’t going to push real hard to protect Israel) then what do you have to lose at that point? Better to take out the thread than wait for things to get worse...
Misdirection, or warning to their own in the field is a possibility.
Yeah, that was turning into a good thread. Even had a map. Too bad “last in first out” has to be the rule.
I believe that may be Israel’s thinking - if we aren’t going to get the kind of US support we need, why wait
I’ve got a feeling its going to be an interesting 2010 in the MidEast region
