Long standing protocols, like them or not, that the sitting president does not campaign against an incumbent.

The party ordinarily does not endorse any candidate until after the primary.

And, Bush violated them!

As soon as he won re-election, Snarlin’ said (or words to the effect) that “he was his own man,” and stuck a butcher knife in President Bush and the Republican’s back!

IIRC, he blocked Bush Judicial nominations?

Snarlin is, as he has proven, a Traitor — to his Party, to his constituents and to his country.

PA voters: PLEASE, OH! PLEASE! RETIRE THIS POS!

Carley, regarding Post #29, you’re absolutely right.

The RSCC also will always take the side of the incumbent in a primary fight. IIRC, Rick Santorum was head of the RSCC at that time and wasn’t gonna back Toomey for that reason alone - even if ideologically agreed with Toomey.
