I read an article in the 1980’s that Specter somehow enable those involved with the JFK assassination for some reason that has always stuck with me and whenever I read about him doing devious thing that article comes to mind.
"Arlen, old pal, when it comes time to vote you better read the cue cards
correctly. You vote wrong, pal, and it could get real ugly. Rahm and Reid
might even get out the whip."
Spector invented the “magic bullet” that went through Kennedy’s neck and then made a midcourse correction in trajectory before going through Connally’s shoulder and wrist. The bullet was later “found” on a stretcher at Parkland. (From memory).
Just think 6 years ago Toomey could have beat Spector in the primary and George W Bush and Karl Rove went up to save Spector’s a$$
IIRC, he was the counsel to the Warren Commission that investigated JFK’s death.
That sounds like what I’ve learned. Not only “found” on a stretcher, but considering all the damage it did; it was in damn good shape.
Magic indeed.
A spectre is haunting America. It is the spectre of Arlen.
When Graham was caught leaving a a secret meeting with Dem Daschle's staff a few years ago he said, "Republican by day. Democrat by night." He'll finally just quit his day job.
to continue the saga of the “magic bullet”, not to be confused with the “magic hat” (ala John Kerry’s gift from a CIA spook in Nam or the “magic Negro” (ala a Black LA Times columnist’s gift to Maha Rushie), the bullet slug found on the hospital gurney was in pristine shape (not as if it had passed through several boney body parts and 2 people. As Philadelphia DA he was called “Snarlin’ Arlen”. He’ll hopefully go down in history as more of a traitor than Benedict Arnold and more of a buffoon than Ted Knight on the old Mary Tyler Moore TV sit-com.
It would be good if he switched, and it would teach SC people not to let the well-meaning Strom dictate their choice from the grave any longer.
Alas, PA people don’t know all of that. All they know is that they have heard the name “Arlen Specter” for a long time, and therefore he must be “good”.
I agree. There is really nothing conservative about them and they need to retire and go fishing!!
Frankly, I’m thankful for Spector the defector...I pray the others follow his lead.
He who with out sin cast the first stone!
In those days he was a fresh young lawer and he was some kind of a facilitator.
I guess one could say Specter allowed himself to be used to get gain!
I have never sucked a toe and you can’t prove that I did.
