When my son returned from Iraq we talked about what he’d learned. He said the thing that stood out to him- was that he never grasped the significance of freedom until he went to war. Since then he’s said countless times- we just don’t know what we’ve got here- we don’t cherish our liberty.
Freedom’s just another word for nothin’left to lose. (Janis Joplin)
Absolutely
“Since then hes said countless times- we just dont know what weve got here- we dont cherish our liberty.”
It’s people like your son that are the best hope for America.
I was lucky, no one was shooting at me when I was in the service. But, when I joined the Navy, it was a different time. They didn’t let you out if you didn’t like it, or it wasn’t a good fit, etc. Once you were in, you were in. That gave me a taste of what it’s like to lose a measure of freedom.
I also know I’ll survive much better than lefties in a totalitarian society. But I won’t like it.
