Missouri House Passes Sovereignty Resolutions
eyewitness reporting | 4-8-10 | o_zarkman44

Posted on 04/08/2010 8:51:09 PM PDT by o_zarkman44

Today, Apr 8th, 2010 is a significant day in the history of Missouri. The Missouri House overwhelmingly passed three 10th Amendment Resolutions. HCR 25, 29 and 39 all were similar in their affirmation of Missouri Sovereignty from intrusive Federal Government policy.

Being able to witness this historic House vote was a personally satisfying event for myself as I was honored to present testimony in the House Hearing on HCR 25, sponsored by Rep Jim Guest and be present in the same hearing room as Rep Brian Neives introduced HCR29 and presented testimony. In addition members of the Missouri Sovereignty Project were at the hearing to present testimony on the sovereignty resolutions.

Next significant sovereignty issue in Missouri is the Health Care Freedom Act which has already passed the House and is awaiting perfection in the Senate. Three weeks ago the Missouri Senate debated the Health Care Freedom Act, sponsored by Sen Jane Cunningham, for nearly 8 hours before adjournment. It is very likely the Health Care Freedom Act will be reintroduced to the Senate Floor next week.

If passed by the Senate, the Health Care Freedom Act will go to the vote of Missourians in November in the form of a constitutional amendment, that makes it illegal for the federal government to compel any resident to purchase health insurance under any fine or other penalty.

In addition, Lt Governor Peter Kinder is joining in the lawsuit with 18 other states challenging federal authority to impose government health insurance. This is a good week in Missouri sovereignty.

Also today I joined in the Missouri 2nd Amendment Rally in the Capital rotunda. There was probably about 300 in attendance. Had a chance to visit some with Dave Evans, Candidate for the House of Representatives and husband of a fellow freeper. Also visited with Rep Kenny Jones, who is a sponsor of the current CCW law revisions that lower the age of a CCW to 21 and increase the permit from 3 to 5 yrs. Rep Jones is term limited from the House, but a candidate for the 6th Senate District in Central Mo.

O_zarkman44,

I heard on the news a few days back that Kinder had announced he would not be filing a lawsuit. Has that changed?

I'm wondering how all this fits in with the kenyan's recruitment of his "domestic" army and trying to get control over every state's National Guard.

Maybe the reason he's not seemingly shook up by all these resolutions and lawsuits is he's going to just send in the goons to take over the state houses.

Any thoughts?

If he thinks he can get away with taking over the state house, he is more insane than I thought.

The messiah, prince and queen won’t have much of an intact country to rule over if they pull that kind of s#it.

Thanks Army Air Corps! While Missouri may have hit a snag with Lt Guvnah Kinder's plan to join the suit against odingacare, they haven't been sitting still. Great work o_zarkman44!

Missouri on the move with 10th Amendment Resolution!

It would probably be the “straw”. I can’t imagine the county sheriffs and state police forces being “just fine” with that... I don’t think he would do it gradually, if that’s his plan at all.

Thanks for the ping! This is great news. I’m happy for all Missourians!!! (is that the right word? Sorry if not!)

One set of my grandparents were born and raised in Missouri! I’ve visited other relatives still living there over the years — including a woman (my Dad’s Great Aunt) who was VERY old when I met her in the early 1970s (at least in her late 80s/90s) - and she lived in Hannibal, Missouri only a couple blocks from “Tom Sawyer” and “Becky’s” homes! :)

He will be filing a suit; however, it will be funded with private donations. Our state AG a Dem. has no interest in joining other states in suing the Fed. Gov.

http://www.stjoenews.net/news/2010/apr/09/missouri-house-passes-sovereignty-resolution/?local

Lets go to a political science propagandist for a quote.

Dr. Schaaf said, while the authority of the state’s constitution cannot trump the U.S. Constitution, the resolution would show that the state will “fight for an interpretation” of the U.S. Constitution “that is just.”

Robert Dewhirst, a political science professor at Northwest Missouri State University, said even if the resolution is passed by Missouri voters, it will be “symbolic.”

“The state governments can’t tell the federal government what to do,” Mr. Dewhirst said.
