My guess is the federal pensions are the safest with the military and especially VA payments being at the top of the list. It would require quite a bit of chutzpah to start reducting thouse directly, although there are certainly other ways to indirectly reduce pensions and benefits.

if you don't think military and VA benefits along with other federal retirement plans are the problem, then you are not being honest...(as a disclaimer...hubby is expecting some kind of guard pension in two years)..

no govt...not a city...not a school district..not a county...not a state...and certainly not a country...can afford to give nearly full pay to people "retiring" in their late 40's or early 50's as does many govts...

sure....its hard to admit...

but SS is a piker compared to these govt entitity "pensions" which are insane....
