Carlton Fisk, Frank “the Big Hurt” Thomas, Tom Seaver, Rich “Goose” Gossage – all names that any Chicago White Sox fan knows by heart. But today, while being interviewed by Washington Nationals booth announcers Bob Carpenter and Rob Dibble, President Barack Obama couldn’t muster up a single name.
The Commander-in-Chief, who has referred to himself a “White Sox kid” during the interview, was hard pressed to name a favorite player on a team that has been around since the late 19th century.
Obama went on to admit that growing up in Hawaii he was an Oakland Athletics fan and didn’t start to root for the White Sox until he got to Chicago and lived near the old Comiskey Park.

I went to Comiskey my first time when I was 5, still remember it in detail.
Something does not smell right with this ... he can’t name one favorite White Sox player? I can still almost name the whole starting lineup of my favorite team .. the Big Red Machine from the 1970’s.
Meanwhile, Rob Dibble, eh - loved him when he was with the Reds.
I bet he can make a killer bracket in Saudi camel racing though.
