WASHINGTON -- The FBI is warning police nationwide that an antigovernment group's call to remove governors from office could spark violence.

The Guardians of the Free Republic, whose Web site says it wants to "restore America" by peacefully dismantling parts of the government, sent the letters.

Investigators fear that the broad call to remove top state officials could lead nonmembers of the group to violence. At least two states, Utah and Nevada, have beefed up security in response.

As of Wednesday, more than 30 governors had received letters telling them to leave within three days or face removal, according to the FBI and Homeland Security.

Is all this hysteria being concocted by the media, in cahoots with the govt?? I can't even find a SINGLE mention of the Guardians group at the FBI's website!

I've read several articles and blogs where some people think this administration may be using this group ("NON-THREATENING", according to the FBI in many articles, but I can't find a source yet) to start restricting freedoms guaranteed by the First Amendment, especially with the big TEA party protests coming up on April 15th in DC and around the country.

This group is under attack because "MAYBE" reading this (totally unrelated to FR) group's 'manifesto' "MIGHT" "incite/provoke violence" or "unleash violent behavior"?! How long before TEA party protests are outlawed because they "MIGHT" "incite/provoke violence" or "unleash violent behavior"??

Anyone remember when a Code Pink member attacked Condoleeza Rice IN PERSON???Barely a mention in the MSM, much less all the concern about others following in Code Pink's footsteps of possible violence in the future. And certainly none of the MSM labels of "extremists" or "anti-government" or "fringe" labels, like the CHRISTIAN militia is still getting in the headlines! Hypocrites!

Hey, there's no doubt that the phrase “restore America” by peacefully dismantling parts of the government, is a call for violence. Of course it's also abundantly clear that Obama’s call for his brown shirts to “get in their face” was just campaign rhetoric.

I need to know how many of these states that received these warnings have lawsuits, or pending lawsuits, against the feds to challenge the Constitutionality of "obamacare".

There is a lot going on regarding the 10th amendment and "states rights" right now, and that only stands in the way of one person...barrack obama. He does not think that he should be limited to the "enumerated powers" only, he wants the whole ball of wax, and is entrench in Chicago tactics to gain that advantage.

These are either obamacare sympathizers, or left wing nuts seeing states rights possibly keeping them away from government freebies.

They can't be in The Guardians of the Free Republic if they are not members. This is an admission those who are violent are outside the organization. This report couldn't be more disingenuous, misleading or contradictory.

What happens when they finally find an excuse to shut down FreeRepublic.com becuase of this, or something else concocted?

They can snap the largest opposition network off at the flick of a switch by labeling FR involved in a hate crime or death threat.

The same anonymity that gives us freedom will be used to isolate us. Don't think "if." You have to know that they WILL!

Recommend you get off-line contacts to 5-6 trusted freepers via phone, sms, twitter, ham radio, bulletin boards! Anything off-the-grid.

We could....we should create local information pipelines for when (I don't think Bama deserves an "IF" anymore) FR is finally silenced for good.

And in that case, we'll need a way to re-direct everyone to a new meeting place. Look how lost everyone gets when FR goes down for technical problems. In fact....JimRob even advertises this very ironic fact by the toon with the skeleton waiting for FR to come back up during freepathons!

Actually the FBI is doing everyone a favor.
It was a stupid stunt to send these letters with some sort of “deadline”. Which ofcourse the letter writers had to know meant nothing.

BTW isn’t the 3 days up.
What was this threat suppose to be anuway. Being forced to listen to an hour speech by Ron Paul?
