(Reuters) - U.S. President Barack Obama said on Tuesday he wanted tougher U.N. sanctions in weeks against Iran over its nuclear program, and the world's leading industrial nations expressed optimism that China will agree on possible next steps.
Obama and French President Nicolas Sarkozy presented a united front on Iran at a joint White House news conference, saying they felt it was time to move ahead with tougher sanctions that their governments have been negotiating with China, Russia, Germany and Britain.
"My hope is that we are going to get this done this spring," Obama said. "I'm interested in seeing that regime in place in weeks."

So more than a year into his term and he’s finally talking about adding sanctions sometime this ‘spring’?
Its a good thing millions of lives aren’t at stake.
Is Israel ready to attack Iran? Is this why Obama will reportedly open up offshore USA waters for oil exploration?
But he wants Jews to stop building homes in Jerusalem yesterday.
Sanctions? Oh no, not sanctions. Please no, anything but sanctions.

There has been some pressure on him to at least look as though he opposes Iran, since he has routinely blocked sanctions practically since he took office. So I think saying “this spring” is merely buying himself time to come up with another excuse.

Iran is determined to commence World War III, a conflagration which is striding boldly our way down Main Street with a neon sign on its head, and no one in a position of authority is doing a thing about it.
Least of all the feckless, ignorant, and incompetent Moslem Obama, who is nothing but an empty suit with a teleprompter, given to expressing his admiration for all things Islamic and openly hostile to Israel, our ONLY reliable ally in the Middle East.
The irony is that when Iran launches its nukes against Israel, Obama will make sure he’s in front of the cameras wringing his hands and cringingly mouthing ex culpas such as, “Who could have foreseen it???”
And he will, of course, blame Israel for the entire mess.
