We've just received word from Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's office that the 1st District Court of Appeal has issued a temporary stay in one of the three furlough cases that the governor appealed on Monday.

I always advocate a different approach when it comes to furloughs.
Tell them to come to work -- but they won't be paid.
The deadbeats and time-wasters will stay home -- you won't have to furlough them.
The 5% of the employees that show up are keepers. Give them huge raises. They do all the work anyway.
