It's not absurd, when it's the law.

I think Social Security is a mandated service we must purchase.

But anyway, if FedGov mandates we all buy a GM “environmentally sustainable” car, ya think they’ll call it The People’s Car, or would that remind us too strongly of the first proponent of national health care (and workmen’s comp and unemployment insurance)?

Yes they can.

Just like the campaign slogan.

Hope and Change = fascism.

Thank you for voting Democrat. :)

That’s the argument you should use to attack it. The court ain’t gonna overturn this on state’s rights because it’s really hard to argue how this affects it under modern legal interpretations. This, on the other hand, could get them to throw it out with probably a few liberal justices joining in.

In Texas, we have to have automobile insurance, to get a vechicle licence.

Next step will most likely be a requirement to buy a GM car. Never really have trusted Hairdoo Perry.

Democrats better be prepared for the GOP requiring everyone to have a chambered bullet in their M16 full automatic under their pillow at night.

And if you don’t, you get hit with a Income tax of 100%.

Monkey see, Monkey Do. This Health care bill is just as ridiculous to me.

Wrong! The content is irrelevant! Any federal version of health care is unconstitutional since Article 1 Section 8 does not specifically grant Congress the power to regulate health care! The people are not bound to comply with an unconstitutional act! The people are the government, not the White House, not Congress and not SCOTUS! They operate at the consent of the governed and have the final say as to how they will be governed! People need to continually keep remind politicians of this fact!

I can't wait...since I can't afford a car I know that Obama will buy one for me out of his Obama cash stash.

Republican members of Congress won’t repeal that law any more than they’ve repealed other unconstitutional laws that Hillary wanted. But the government won’t have the future revenues to support zombie Hillarycare, either.

Force you to buy a GM car? Hell, they can force you to buy the type of groceries they want, or books (as they do in government schools).

Well, they might as well dust off their handcuffs and come get my ass; this $h|+ has got to stop somewhere, at some time.

I own two GM cars now, but they're older cars...I have vowed that I will never buy another.

We need to call this $h|+ to a head, now...INCREMENTALLY he is making us into obamabots, forced to do his will.

I will NOT.

At his trial, Rearden does not accept the laws he has broken as rational, so he refuses to participate. He sees them as what they are: the manifestation of brute force. The government is able to prosecute him as a criminal only because they have created unjust laws that turn him into one.

Parallels to today? Make laws that are impossible to comply with then you own people.
