The rhetoric is getting fairly bad on both sides, I don’t think its been this bad in recent memory. Eventually something is going to give, someone is going to go over the edge.

The Vitriolic speech is fueled by the Whitehouse. Obama refuses to be a president of ALL the people and instead remains a partisan in perpetual campaign.

Phooey

Political divisiveness has been around since the second Presidential election. The only time that the country was in pretty much agreement, politically, is when George Washington took the first oath of office. After that, it's been the same old same old, and sometimes it got really nasty, just like today.

Perhaps it is good for the American people to realize that they are ideologically very polarized. Regardless of the touchy-feely, multicultural, feel-good, diversity BS that we daily have to swallow from our politicians it is very evident that we have lived on top of a powderkeg for a long time.

We ceased to be a melting pot but, instead, have turned into a pressure cooker.

Rhetoric on both sides? The only rhetoric coming from the right is the BS lies being told by the left. The left are the ones making the death threats. All the BS about the tea party protesters is just that, BS, lies made up by the left to discredit right wing voters. The only ones who are going to go over the edge are the ones that always go over the edge: The left wing radicals who want to turn us into a welfare state.

“The rhetoric is getting fairly bad on both sides”

I beg to differ with you. Which side, other than the Democrat side, is using rhetoric AT ALL?

I guess you never heard about the duel between Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr.
