I hope the Republicans at least introduce a Motion to Recommit.

Yeah, right!

They know Stupak for a loyal Democrat much better than most Freepers do.

I know people have been throwing around the idea of prayer but maybe we need to pray for the Repubs to have strength.

The only postive thing in this nightmare is we have seen (mostly) good versus purely evil on the Dems side.

I do not think in my lifetime I have EVER seen such a stark difference. A satanic person with a past no one knows about - pushing a baby killing bill on a Sunday. The same bill that was passed on Christmas Eve. My guess is it will be signed on Easter.

I am not that religious in attending because I always see too many Stupak’s in church. In my life, I do not think I have ever seen such a case of good versus evil.

So much for the Glen Beck crap about Dems and the GOP being the same. Just get rid of the RINOs like McCain and Graham plus no more Bush or pro-gay/sodomy McCains/Cheneys.

Please explain if this is good or bad and if there is still hope tonight.

They should introduce a motion to recommit with just Stupak’s language in it. even if only a few of Stupak’s group vote for it that might be enough to kill the bill.

Here's my question. Since the vote is on the Senate bill and the abortion promise was made for reconciliation, isn't it possible once the house approves the measure, that the Senate could deny it, and thus, allow FOR gov't funded abortions?

Does anyone honestly believe democrats will not allow funded abortions?!?!?!

Smoke and mirrors. The dems are toast. Either way they vote, they’ve tormented us and they’ll pay.

I don’t understand this much but I heard yesterday dKOS was very worried about this ‘motion to recommit’ and Hillbuzz was saying that it could be a very powerful weapon against the Dems.

I like the spunk, but the 'rats aren't actually worried about anything; if they were, then they would have voted the whole SOB down.

They aren't and they won't.

Is Stupak so stupid as to think that an EO supercedes legislation? I hope they do use the Motion to Recommit might as well have as many commercials to run against the commies as possible in November!

I honestly can’t keep track of all these crazy procedures.

Is this really possible???......

“If enough Democrats with Republicans backed the motion to recommit the bill to committee, it would effectively kill the healthcare bill.”

Why would House Democrats be worried? There are 59 abortion-supporting Democrats in the Senate. That’s more than enough to kill off any attempt at inserting the Hyde Amendment in the reconciliation package. Stupak has nothing to worry about. He can rest assured knowing that federal tax dollars will soon be used to kill unborn babies.
