Doomsday Eve
The Atheist Conservative ^ | March 19, 2010 | Jillian Becker

Posted on 03/19/2010 11:07:09 PM PDT by garyhope

This is a fulcrum moment in history.

If the Democrats succeed in “kicking down the door”, “crossing the threshold”, “vaulting over the fence” – to use Pelosi-Obama metaphors – by passing their “health care” bill, which is actually a bill to turn America towards unstoppable socialism, they will have a clear field in front of them.

The Left’s “long march through the institutions” brought Obama to the most powerful position in the world. Now the purpose of the long march can be realized: a collectivist world.

Then the brief American experiment in liberty – successful though it has been while it lasted – will be over: over for America, and so for the world. There have been only a few periods and places in which people have been able to live in freedom under law. Britain managed it for a while. The United States has managed it triumphantly for about 234 years. Ahead, if the bill passes and the Democrats continue in the direction Obama and Pelosi are leading them, lies collectivism, poverty, serfdom, misery. There will be hunger and want as there was in collectivist Russia and collectivist China; not immediately, but once the Capitalist Goose is killed, there can be no more golden eggs and the store will soon be bare.

However the swing to socialism is accomplished, whether by majority vote in a corrupt Congress, or by hook-and-crook, deem-and-wangle, if this measure becomes law it will be a victory for evil.

That’s very dramatic and all, but this isn’t Russia or China. The American people will not roll over that easily...

Sadly true. Progressives seem to think once (if) this passes people will go back to being quiet sheep. They don't get it...they are killing the golden goose and the world will be poorer for it. We will be unable to return to being quiet sheep.

They are overeducated and uneducated enough to not understand it, so they are letting it happen. The Nancy Pelosi’s of the world are only the symptom. A people ultimately gets the government that they deserve, and sadly, tomorrow, if enough people think that socialism is a good idea, we will get the government that we (collectively) deserve.

Its easy to blame the Dim’s but the GOP had their chance in 1994 and blew it. I think there may be one more chance coming out of this but if the present way of doing things continues the GOP will blow it again and at that point there will never be turning back,

The majority doesn’t want it and they are only fueling the fire by ignoring and mocking the opposition. It’s a powder keg, in my opinion, and they have greatly underestimated the depth of anger and frustration that is going on in the real world.

Maybe it’s just me, but I think this is the straw that breaks the camels back.

If these fools think we will just roll over and die... THEY have another think coming. I may only state with certainty for myself that I will not go gently into the night. First I will refuse to pay taxes. With the extra cash I will increase my supplies of ammo. I WILL DO WHATEVER IS NECESSARY TO DEFEND MY FREEDOM... NOTHING is off the table. NOTHING.

Maybe it’s just me, but I think this is the straw that breaks the camels back.

When they were allowed to take over the banking system, and nothing happened, that gave them the green light to proceed to the next take over. They took over the auto industry and without much ado. So they are proceeding to take over the health care system.

If they had been slapped upside the head the first time they nationalized private business, it may have been different.

Until the population of these United States of America get serious, they will continue to nationalize every aspect of our economy. They will not stop with health care. That is a given.

The American people will not roll over that easily...

The American people have been rolling over quite easily for some 75 years now. Even longer, if you consider the imposition of the income tax several decades earlier.

Slowly, slowly, all that time, the underpinnings of our great Republic have been chipped away. And now the very last vestiges of our Constitution may be swept aside tomorrow.

Are you sure the American people will not roll over yet again?

(I won't. And I know a few other people who won't. But that's not a whole lot of people.)

I hear what you’re saying and am not trying to defend an absolute position. The difference I see with the health care bill is that it becomes personal. Banking and GM...what impact did people actually experience in their day to day lives? Forcing me to buy something that I don’t want and charging me a fine if I don’t, that’s quite a different story in my opinion.

Progressives seem to think once (if) this passes people will go back to being quiet sheep.

I think that Obama actually thought that he'd have a real easy time fluttering in all his changes. Michelle told us that he would "not let us remain comfortable." His plan has been to mold us into something we have no desire to be.

We really are pretty lucky though that Obama does not know how to govern. He truly has not been fashioned to lead living and breathing Americans. Now, if he were in the Soviet Union, he'd feel so much more at home.

Whatever happens on Sunday, discontented Americans will not just pipe down and let Obama have his way. His hold on America is tenuous at best.

He said that Perry said that the first order of business for the next 72 hours was to go to the governor's site, get a list of representative and call. http://www.rickperry.org/

The time has come to express your rights and remind the federal government that it was created to serve the states and the people, not the other way around. We must stop the government takeover of our healthcare system. One-size-fits-all mandates from Washington will not fix our healthcare industry, which needs tort reform as a start to bringing down costs.

Today, we are asking you to call these Texas representatives and ask tell them to vote "NO" on Obamacare. Together, let's make Washington listen to what the people actually want.

Texas Metros Continue to Show Strong Economic Indicators Wed, 03/17/2010 -

Governor Perry continues to keep focus on the Texas economy as the most important issue facing our state. With record job creation, low taxes, sweeping tort reform, and the most business-friendly environment in the nation, it's clear that fiscal discipline under Gov. Perry is keeping Texas as an economic driver leading the nation out of recession.

The Brookings Institution today released its quarterly report on the nation's 100 largest metropolitan areas. The overall performance rankings are based on indicators like unemployment rates, housing markets, and gross metropolitan product.

People are surprised that the godless system of 'we are gods' is evil? Somebody might need to recalibrate their minds I mean meters again.
