Why Health care Reform Must Pass
Bob Parks: Black & Right ^ | 3/19/10 | Bob Parks

Before you ask what kind of self-medication I've discovered, let me preface this by reminding people I, among other things, am a political tactician. I lived in dark blue Massachusetts where Democrats not only made sport of standing on the necks of the super-minority Republicans, but attempting to squeeze the remaining life out of them. I know how they think and I know what will happen if health care reform is defeated.

I disagree. You neglect the media’s spinning of this “important victory” for 0bama. It will promote the outcome so much that it will sway some to being glad for it.

However, if it fails, the media can’t spin that one very well. They can continue to berate people for not supporting it, but that isn’t inherently helpful to their cause.

“Media spinning” didn’t discourage the Tea Party movement. The MSM is being beaten by Cartoon Network, thus are increasingly irrelevant.

There’s yet another problem with your proposal. Do you realize to undo this mess, the Republicans will need enough votes to override 0bama’s veto? Those numbers won’t possibly be there until 2013, when 0bama may be moved right out of office, anyway.

This must die now.

The writer has a point. If they’re intent on pulling this outrageous maneuver, perhaps they should just do it and reap the consequences. If I know America, the normally sleepy citizens will eventually revolt over this travesty. The public is like a big sloppy dog, it will take many beatings until one day, backed into a corner, it will attack with fury.

Maybe that’s the way this has to go down. It could ruin the Democrat party for a generation (like Watergate did to the GOP).

True, but as we’ve seen by comments coming from the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, it’s all about Obama and his legacy. Bill Clinton was knocked down a peg, and Obama will be lame duck after two years if he doesn’t calm down.

If it doesn’t pass, the liberal arrogants will only be emboldened, their supporters will be energized, and taking back the House may not be all that easy.

I disagree. Defeat this bill now or be saddled with unbearable slavery to government. This will NEVER be repealed. It could be overturned by the courts however.

That dog usually gets dead real quick.

A better name for Obamacare is “The Obama Cram Down Bill”.

So what do you do after this is passed and the new Congress is in? The same thing. If they are given that much power, both parties; we will cease to exist as America.

I say no. When we win in November; put some teeth into punishing them. Arrest and send them to jail. Obama would have probably already cut off their pensions and sent them to skid row.

Yes, but the deciding votes for Obama came from people who still watch the cartoon network.

The 'kinder' were motivated, plus the guilty white vote pushed him over the top.

Now, they are all being either abused or dis-abused by the reality of an Obama presidency...

Although, I do agree the "drive-by media" is waning, I think it is due more to the aging of America...

I mean by now the aptly named "Greatest Generation" must be mostly gone, considering if you were 20 when WWII ended you are now 85.

Hell, even now "Baby Boomers" are retiring at the rate of 7,000 a day.

Consider that figure for a second.

7,000 a day adds $70,000,000 a year to the cost of social security... and that is $70,000,000 every day.

and that is working with only a rock bottom payment of $10,000 each per year.

The only good news is, the first thing a socialist government does is kill the people who know how they stole power.

So, all the demonrats that screwed us will be the first to stand up against the wall and die from lead posioning!!

I agree with you.

If they win this one, they are going to be so giddy with success and power that whatever else they have been dreaming about will be rammed through any which way they can. They will have things like high energy costs, higher private-sector unemployment, control over irrigation, fishing and boating, etc, etc, etc which cannot be cloaked in high-sounding rhetoric about people dying unless they act.

Meanwhile, the taxes will hit sooner than the benefits, as will the lack of med staff and facilities. Since these are already taking place, it will be glaringly obvious what the donks have wrought by November.

A dedicated GOP caucus, even if it cannot override a veto, can stall most of all this while exposing the deals that we all know have gone down and refusing to act on any nominations they must vote upon.

Our pain will increase marginally. Their pain will increase exponentially. As someone who is already hurting from the economy and my Dem-controlled state’s property taxation increases (50% in 2 years), I don’t want any more pain and pressure, but if it will mean we can kick all of them out for a good long time at most levels, then I will suffer. But, please, Lord, not too much more or too much longer.

With all due respect, I disagree. Isn’t it extremely difficult to repeal a law?

Do I understand correctly that you are no longer a resident of MA?
