What would my grandfathers say if they had lived to see this?

I think our grandfathers would be pleased, or at least relieved -- The Russians admit we had something to do with winning WW 2, which they didn't used to do. We have troops in Red Square -- without being fired on. And while we still should worry about them, it is nothing like the level pre RR's presidency.

In just the same way as having the Chancellor of Germany givng speeches in German in large public places in America (Kohl did several commencements after the fall of the Belrin Wall) didn't have quite the meaning in 1990 that we feared for the future, in 1942, such an event would have.
